Well first off I personally extremely dislike the hunter subclass, and I recommend that you choose Titan or possibly warlock. Each class really just has different roles for different raids, crucible matches, and other weekly activities. Hunter has a subclass called the gunslinger which is especially good in pvp. Warlock has a sun singer subclass that has the ability to self revive and potentially clutch a trials of Osiris match or raid. Titan has a great subclass that allows you to essentially create a bubble or forcefield around you and you teammates, this can be useful when capturing zones in pvp or for protection in pve. If you plan on buying the taken king DLC then the New Titan subclass will absolutely demolish! I mean cmon who doesn't love throwing flaming exploding hammers. I also suggest that you do not get to invested in a single character, try to get all 3 character slots full with max level characters, this will make getting end game gear a whole lot easier. The last and possibly the most important thing, FIND A CLAN! This is something that honestly made destiny so enjoyable for me, if I didn't have a team to do weekly events with regularly I would honestly have quit by now, just having friends that you can count on to clutch a situation or revive someone in a sticky situation is just absolutely awesome.
