Can someone explain how party leader impacts matchmaking??

If going into PvP with a group: a) Do you matchup with opponents based on the party leader's true skill? b) Is matchmaking based on everyone's true skills combined in your party? c) Some sort of mix? d) None of the above, and I'm way off? Also, in the same scenario, how does party leader impact game connection and host?

  • Look at your dtr score that percentage is pretty much your bracket for mach making, normal pvp is based first on skill then in connection as far as a party, it is a avergae between the players in the party but has a stronger curve to the player in the lowers skill bracket

    • true skill is not a factor in MM, its more connection within the party than anything else. when im leader with 5 americans and me being the only european the connection is trash for all of them, give one of them leader and its only me thats having problems but thats because of the ping i get, as far as my experience goes

    • Party leader is different to host. If the fireteam is made by Player A and he then gives leader to B, you're still on A's host. If you want to play on B's host he has to back out and make a whole new fireteam. There's no skill based matchmaking, but the game will match you with people who live close to the host. You can still sometimes get matched against people from other continents but it's rarer.

    • Trials is connection based not skill

    • I believe it's primarily skill based matchmaking that uses the party leader's combat rating as a judge of your opponents. To be honest, I wish they would put the whole think to connection based. The lag is getting to be beyond a joke lately.

      • I can tell you that I don't know, but I've thought about this as well. I think it's all just connection-based.
