Why were fusion rifles nerfed? They are reducing projectile speed. I don't get it. No one uses fusion rifles because they are so inconsistent. Sometimes they kill sometimes they don't. I don't think they deserved a nerf to the range. If anything, a slight buff would have fixed them.
It could be because shotguns are being nerfed. We will have to wait and see how it plays.
Edit: I am 100% ok with the rest of the nerfs. It was well done. Ice breaker was a bit harsh though.

No one's talking about it because no one has used them since the last fr nerf.
-
Also, there is almost no one using sidearms, they should have a small buff to be brought back into circulation, I use it because it's fun

Official Bungle Interview

I agree https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/139663583 My thoughts on what Bungie did wrong
-
Sheep. They said they made changes because of the community. Bungie realized weapons have been a failure since VOG. Especially exotic weapons. The Dark Below exotic weapons? Terrible. They marketed Nechrocasm with this expansion and were promptly embarrassed when nobody used it. The Dark Below legendary weapons? Liking that Black Hammer but that's it....doh HoW exotic weapons? Cute, but no. Prison weapons? shank burn anybody? Trials weapons? Nah When they allowed us to ascend our VOG weapons it surfaced how poor the weapons have been since. Fatebringer - yes, please. Vision of Confluence - yes, please. Found Verdict - yes, please. Praedyths Revenge - yes, please. Original exotics...gally and ice breaker...yes and yes. They need to devalue our favorite weapons to pump up the TTK weapons so everyone will buy the expansion. Don't think just because people cried and whined, they had a voice of influence. It's about the bottom line and the dollar bill
-
I think because of the other nerfs fusion rifles will become more viable since you can't shotgun snipe anymore. Meaning when they become used they don't want them to be op.
-
I wonder what this means for queen breaker
-
-
I hate how fusion rifles are harder and harder to use. They are taking down range and accuracy (basically), but im content with it bcuz its not like every other weapon isnt being nerfed. Besides, fusion rifles were initially made for little damage on crowds.

Edited by Quasisight: 7/18/2015 3:51:36 AMThank God I can buy TTK and get the new strong weapons!11!1!1!1!
-
Vex again is crap... Queenbreaker Bow was a total waste... Why develop endgame weapons that are total garbage and a waste of an inventory slot?
-
Thank you Some one who understands
-
They forgot to nerf Activision's greed
-
Bungie: we realize everyone switched to shotguns after we screwed up Fusion Rifles, so let's make them worse to remind everyone how much we don't want them used.
-
So the black hammer nerf isn't important? So they nerf a PvE gun just so it takes longer to complete tasks. That's cool.
-
You forgot the PRs nerf
-
I agree with you so much
-
What about rangefinder nerf? Is that just for shotguns or the perk itself ?
-
Thank you!
-
Just wait for it this will unintentionally screw up something with the mythoclast or the queen breakers bow since they are fusion rifles also. I have not touched a fusion rifle since they nerfed them last time cause they really sucked after imo. I see no reason at all that they should nerf them AGAIN.
-
Sack them all.
-
I say they should have gotten rid of the stupid cone effect they do. Makes the vex mythoclast crap because it can't aim for shit. They should have at least buffed the vex back to how it used to be before the first fusion rifle nerf.
-
No one uses fusion rifles so no one gives a shit.
-
Bungie just wants to screw us over all the way
-
The nerf no one is talking about is the "perk nerf" Stat Perk Tuning Pass "The initial set of stat perks that have been on weapons since launch (Send It, Hammer Forged, Field Scout, Perfect Balance, etc.) all granted a pretty huge increase to their targeted stat. Not only did they spike their stat, but they never asked the player to make a meaningful trade-off for it on the weapon. We have gone back to all of these stat perks and reduced the amount that they buff your weapon stat, and this change was made retroactively against all year one weapon talent grids. To compensate for the weaker stat perks from launch weapons, we added some new stat perks (which have already showed up on your House of Wolves weapons) that do provide a significant increase to a stat in exchange for a reduction in other stats. This allows players to be able to spike a stat that reinforces their play style, but at a cost. Basically, if you want to spike a stat we are asking you to specialize the weapon for what that stat offers."
-
Yup. There goes the Vex. Again.
