Why No New Jump Ability For Sunbreaker Titans? Here's My Idea.
Anyone else disappointed that the Titan is not going to have a new jump ability? I was excited to hear about the new Titan Sunbreaker in The Taken King. I absolutely love my Titan alt and can't wait to wield a fiery hammer! But when I heard there wasn't any new Jump ability, I was so disappointed. I know Titans are supposed to be "slow, lumbering, armored tanks", but why not give them a Jump that could even the playing field with Hunter's and Warlock's Blink? Then I started doing some thinking. With my current living situation, I spend a lot of time driving. I don't mind it so much because I do a lot of thinking. I like creating ideas. Brainstorming. I love Destiny and its universe, and I like to create scenarios and mechanics about the game. (some day I might share ALL my Destiny ideas here if this first post takes off, lol) And then I came up with what a new Titan Jump Ability should be ...
I call it "Afterburner". It's very similar to Blink, except it's not a short range teleport. It's basically the Titan channeling their Solar ability to give them a burst of speed like a fighter jet (hence the name), leaving a trail of fire in their wake. This ability would take the place of Catapult in the Sunbreaker skill tree. Think of it as feeling like a Shoulder Charge (without melee damage), but faster and covers a farther distance. Even the name "Afterburner" fits perfectly with the theme of the Solar Sunbreaker. I don't see it being as fast as Blink, but at least Titans would have some fighting chance to level the playing field a little bit when it comes to maneuvering in the air against Hunters/Warlocks.
So what do you guys think? Titans in the forums, what say you? Or, after reading my idea, can you think of your own for a new Titan Jump for Sunbreakers? If Taken King is still in a state where changes can still be made before it's release date, could we get Bungie's attention and make them take a step back and go, "Hmmm ... that's a damn good idea. Let's do it!"? Come on, everyone ... let's be heard!

Because titan are too heavy and aren't suposse to be agile like warlocks and hunter that's why they have that smashing power to destroy everything on their path do you imagine a titan agile? It would be the most op character

I think we already have enough hunters and warlocks using the blink/shotgun, we don't need to add to the problem by giving Titans your afterburner. It would allow then to close distance way to fast according to your description.

Titans move the fastest of any class. A/X mash on controlled makes you blaze past your teammates. Hell, some teams used it to speed run hard mode crota lamps before weight of darkness ever settled in. Titans have the best jump already.

You might get one, the E3 build was outdated. The same thing goes for all the repeat grenades.

First of all we're not ""slow lumbering tanks"". We don't have the armor or melee power to support that. Also warriors aren't inherently slow. Warriors have sub variations with their own strengths, a few examples are berserker, tank, and paladin. Tank is the only one that is traditionally slow, though that depends on the specific game. Now that I got that out of my system. I really like this idea. It has been pitched before, mostly as a buff to catapult. Because catapult is just awful right now.

17 RepliesThe hunter and warlock don't have a new jump ability either though, so why are we not disappointed that each class also doesn't have new jump abilities? Personally, im more disappointed that they decided to recycle grenades instead of creating three new ones for each new subclass. Every class in existence right now has completely unique grenades, why couldn't the same have been done for ttk?
