Legendary Engram from Roc strike
So I was wondering if old gear and weps could still drop, it was rumored that they did in Roc strikes but you would have to grind very hard for them.
Well I started one up and it was the Sepkis prime strike and on the first wave of the first room I got a legendary engram. Lol.
So now I can help to confirm whether or not old weps drop, it's a secondary wep so I'm hoping for an old sniper... Let's see....
[spoiler]I got "The Frenzy" it's a new fusion rifle. Don't give up hope though, many of the people that talked about this subject said you could get the weapons from blue engrams with luck, they never said anything about legendaries so I thought I had just hit the jackpot. Something odd though, when I took it to the cryptarch it took a really long time to load the weapon.[/spoiler]

7 RepliesNo weapon engrams drop on the rewards screen only armor engrams, you can still get the armor easy enough. The only way to get the guns is to reset your char and do eris missions, then reset again again and keep doing it till you drop what you want. You could be doing it till destiny 10 if your looking for something specific like ldr with final round, i think eris missions drop 9 blue engrams total so you will get 2 blue specials on average. So from there id guess 5% change of legendary from each, so 10-1 you get a legendary special from a reset. Theres 3 types of special gun so only 1/3 of those legendaries will be sniper = 30-1 per run. Chances of final round 1/12? This makes it about 360-1 to drop any exact legendary weapon type with any 1 specific perk you want per char reset. Its about 6 hours from rank 0-20 + 1 hour for eris missions, so 2520 play hours for an evens chance at getting that ldr with final round.

Was that legendary engram you found from the reward screen at the end of the strike? or on the floor during the strike?

If they drop from mobs they they'll be HoW stuff If you receive them at the end rewards screen then they'll be vanilla or tdb

In-game engrams will all decode into HoW stuff. Only blue engrams from the end screen might decode into old legendary gear. Good luck to everyone in grinding out something nice !!!

1 ReplyLegendary Engrams will not work even if they drop from the old Strike Playlists. The way you do it is obtaining the Blue Engrams from the Post-Game Screen, those Blue Engrams have a chance of decoding in to an old Legendary.
