Points for Trials [Guide]

As with anything competative and for anyone who needs to improve there will always be something that needs to be changed or perfected not everything will work for everyone -Communication yea its basic isnt it? but you would forget just how often players will not do this... are you out of shields? then let your team know. got a flanker? let your team know they might not have noticed. going to use your super? let your team know. Dont clog the channels too much with chatter you dont need to tell your team you moved 10 feet from b flag to the wall on black shield its pointless, you do need to tell them if you are pushing from b flag to spawn however. you dont need to be relaxed but you do need to keep that focus if you are distracted and can remove the distraction then do so. You need to develope call outs for areas of a map they dont need to be fancy just something unique enough in one or two words ie shores of time has a circular area between c and b in the middle of map, my team calls this round table. -Dead Ghosts I know i know a dead ghost is a good ghost but ever remember that tricky little subclass called the sunsinger? well it loves to play whack-a-mole, put that guy back in his lil box k? if its dead always keep off the body but make sure to watch it. you do not need to be rubbing it like a genies lamp. heres some advice, every dead ghost is a selfres warlock that will blind you, melee you for extra shields, shot gun you and DoT fusion nade you. If its first down do not push unless you know you can secure it, there are still two gaurdians who have trained their sights on where they think you will come from to push them the only time i would say always push is if its 1 left alive -Flanks always watch your radar, you may think you have all three opponents engaged infront of you but think again. your sense of safety from your flank is the opening they need to wipe your team -Predicatbility Please for the love of god unless the team you are facing is a bunch of carebare lemmings(teamhuggers) switch up what you do do not go to the same places using the same paths all the time, its the opening you enemy needs to whipe your team. This also does not mean you just swap players you might as well have done exactly what got your team whiped the first time. at the same time do not as a team fall into what the enemy wants you to do if they push hard dont automaticaly fall back deffencive you can agreesive flank or decoy them you could also play that sunsingers game of whack-a-mole, there are always so many options for what you could do. -Mindset This is NOT casual fridays soldier! Trials is a competative mode that requires your best for your team do not go in thinking you can lone wolf this aircraft carrier, you need that team even if you use them as bait they can still help you get that kill so communicate with them and work with them. Keep your self confidant, if you dont have confidance in your ability your mindset will detriment your performance, you will misjudge things and react poorly keep your confidance up but do not be over confidant. Again this is not regular crucible dont get upset if your kill is stolen, you should instead rejoice in his deadness its saved you some damage and bullets play accordingly watch the body, engage the enemy. -Practice Every team needs practice, this comes from playing similar modes. If elimination is up go in there and dont stop untill you win 10 consecutive matches. since its skill based this will be more indicative of your teams chemistry and team work. you can also use skirmish and salvage for this. Our team uses these rules for skirmish: you cannot res on your own must wait for a team mate to res you or for auto spawn. you must act like a full team wipe is a loss in trials. keep track of dead bodies and treat them as you would in trials. if you wipe twice its a lost passage you must trash it and last win 10 straight matches three times as a team. Try to practice on every dlcs maps Trials does rotate and you need to learn the pathing of those maps, it will be very frustrating if you try to learn while in a Trials match -Pre Match As soon as you see 6/6 on that searching immidiately go to your friends screen and inspect the people u matched against. First call out class then call out all relevant gear as in unique exotic perks like fast res, four shot, nades on spawn then call out exotic weapons and special/heavy weapon type + if heavy has prox once that is done you can go into their class perks for things like shoulder charge, combustion or shadowjack. Remember all of this has to be said as short as possible while also staying relavent. Keep checking to see if they change their gear while loading once loaded stop checking your being a burden to your team. -First Round The first round is a tester phase, will your oponent sit back? will they rush? will they wait at the flag? this is when you determine what playstyle they have and what they likely will do, their gear may seem to indicate one way but that does not mean that is actualy what they will do. Some times you will get a unique team who is adaptable and they will change what they do to throw you off and win be prepared for this. -Weapons Unless you have god like stats (top dtr 5000) then dont disadvantage your team by using charge up weapons, no non max or blue/green/white weapons either unless agreed apon its very disrespectfull to you team mates effort for the team. -Team If you can help it always stick to the same team members all the time try not to swap them out for another. Keeping the same team all the time helps you to learn their playstyles and how to compliment them. It will also keep you accustomed to their callouts. Your classes do not matter, what does matter at least a little is how well you can usualy do against other gaurdians .. i would not recommend composing a team of purely sub 1.0 kds you must have at least 1 "slayer" in your team( my teams comp is 2 at ~1.6 + me at ~0.9) and all three must be able to communicate/listen, a lone wolf who dosnt give a crap about whats going on is not going to win the match. -Heavy Round I would advise a 2-1 split it gives you a better chance of someone getting heavy from your team and reduces the chances of an instant team wipe. Weapon suggestion for this round would be a prox/tripod rocket or the truth/gjally. even if you are part of that 2 man going to heavy remember to space yourselves so its not an easy kill but still stay within that 20m to get your ammo. You do not need to be carebare with your teamate. -Boons Some teams are better players when they do not have the safety net of a mercy. i would not advise a mercy untill your 6th win or 7th win if your with an exceptionaly bad team or having a bad day. save the boon until the 6th win if you purchased favour and 7th win if you have not.
