Hey fellow guardians! I LOVE the lore in destiny! much to my dismay the story is not portrayed very well in the story missions in the game. my qualms with the storytelling are that there is a GREAT story to destiny or rather i should say a GREAT history. Battles fought and won, interesting characters with all their own storys to tell. sadly the game does not reflect these interesting moments. the game guides you through the story like a Japanese exchange student taking american history 101. A lot of narration and this happened then that happened and shoot this cuz its bad! the ingame storytelling is very lacking although it is not missing due to the grimoire cards that you can collect throughout the game. and that poses another problem. forcing your audience to go and find the story. players should not have to search and put forth effort into finding more about the world of destiny.the story should be in the front so we know why things are happening the way they are or why certain things are important for certain characters. AND not only are the grimoire cards you have to collect you cant even read them in game! i dont know whose idea this was but it was straight up stupid. All this to day that i wanted to have something more tangible that i could touch and fell and open and the pages would crinkle as you turn them and you could see the history on the pages as well as read them. see the pictures and diagrams and coffee stains of a weathered and used journal containing all the history and lore of destiny. I want this to look and feel as if a guardian ha compiled all these notes as he went about his travels and the people that he met and shared adventures with. Well thats what im hoping for. PHASE 1 will be to compile all the grimoire notes into a journal so that i have it all in one place and so that i can better organize things and space things out for pictures and diagrams and the like. (please note that i am neither a graphic designer or super good artist jsut a random dude who loves destiny and lore) PHASE 2 will be to transfer everything of the grimoires and pictures/diagrams into something that a guardian would carry around on his/her travels. im thinking a small leather bound journal about 5in wide by 7 in tall. PHASE 3 will be to add effects such as water damage, coffe stains, crinkled/torn pages (but dont worry no important information will be torn out!) So what do you guys think? Is this something that others would be interested in? Let me know your thoughts and opinions, i would love to hear them!
