2 years of B.net (Through my eyes) Part 3

Part 2 I step through a time machine (October 20, 2014) On this day I accidentally tapped on #sexylonghorn. I was sent into a time before Destiny's release. I realized how fun it was back then but most importantly, how much we had lost as a community. I had seen users that no longer post and topics that were no longer famous. Eventually I reached posts about Destiny speculation. The most shocking part was going back to see the beginning of the end. Seeing users scramble around in chaos, incredibly confused and wanting to know what happened to this place. Seeing as how history had repeated itself. bugne y? (Late October 2014) A month after Deej's announcement #Gaming, #Community, #Bungie, and #Help still remained Desticle cesspools. Members began to doubt Bungie or at least actually post their thoughts publicly. It had been out of control for too long and a month had passed since we were told there would be change, but nothing came. Bio snaps (November 2, 2014) Banndwizard would finally break Bio by repeatedly claiming he was Rains alt (another user). His cringey newfoman circle jerk was in complete awe while everyone else lol'd as the whole forum (that was overrun by his worshippers) was left without him. The beginning of the enlightenment (November 3, 2014) A user by the name of Velexia calls out Bungie for this misleading and false advertising. He proved this by posted articles, weekly updates, and videos of how Bungie was feeding people bullshit up until launch. Someone else seemed to finally understand what had really happened. The enlightenment grew in strength and from the 7th on to the 11th and a handful of Desticles stepped against their tyrannic masters. G-Day (November 13, 2014) Bungie finally commences the first steps of Project Purity. It went horrible at first, the new description gave the Desticles more power than the last. Eventually the ninja (Prometheus25) would step up with us to deliver the final push. With him we went farther into #Gaming than ever before and with Ninja support moral quadrupled. The tides were finally turning and #Gaming was slowly being restored. Into the dark (November 14-15, 2014) Even though #Gaming was being liberated, we were still massively outnumbered. #Help, #Feedback, #Community, #Bungie, and #Recruitment were all under Desticle control. It would take months to restore them back to their previous state but Project Purity proved it was possible. From here on out I would go into a dormancy like no other. Although I watched the forums on occasion I no longer posted on #Off-topic and this would continue up until late June. The liberation of #Community (December 31, 2014-January 1, 2015) Although talk of taking back #Community had been rumored, only now did it finally take place. #Off-topic, with its newfound power, would storm into #Community and strike down the Desticle posts that flooded the forum. Shacker, a ninja that helped during G-Day, was once again in the front lines stomping out Desticle resistance left and right. It was glorious. New banners (February 10, 2015) Today, the banners (or pictures) that over looked each forum were changed for the first time since their release back in January 2013. It wasn't anything too historic, but worth mentioning as I wasn't around for a few months and this came as a surprise. Lost in time (February 10-18, 2014) Although the exact date is unknown, Bungie updated their app so that posts not having been replied to for months were now locked off. I believe I was the first to notice it and make the announcement but no one payed attention. This would become a great barrier in the telling of our history and no one really seemed to care. The day b.net stood still (March 24, 2015) According to Deej, any accounts not linked to Xbox live or Playstation network would be unable to sign in. Although they had told us weeks in advanced it still took the whole forum by surprise. On the morning of March 24 an error occurred. The glitch did not allow anyone (that was not on a browser) to sign in. Such inactivity had never been witnessed before. The Desticles strike back (June 18, 2015) It had been almost 2 years since the last attack but the Desticles were at it again. A sad excuse for a raid took place on this day. #Off-topic thought about ways to retaliate but there was no need. #Destiny was a shitstorm after the announcement of the taken king and the Desticles were at each other's throats once more. Desticle riots (June 22, 2015) Luke Smith got into an argument with a reviewer trying to justify the price of the coming Destiny dlc and claimed that "players would throw money at their screen" for some silly content. #Destiny was a greater shitstorm than usual with posts everywhere. They were tearing themselves apart. The community had officially hit a new low. It's finished (June 25, 2015) So here we are, at the end of my story. It feels strange actually being done with this little project. I had been working on it for so long but I've finally made it to the end. This place has changed so much since I first joined, even if it's only been 2 years. I'm not very good at these type of things so I just want to say thank you and here's for 2 more.
