Personally I do not like the name change at all. It's way too literal. It's like if you guys had of named Halo just plain Master Chief. It just doesn't sound good to me. Any who, regardless of the name I'm still preordering this day one. [Edited on 11.25.2008 2:13 PM PST]

Too. Many. Syllables! In all seriousness, I don't think that this will stick as the finalized name, but I do like it more than [i]Halo 3: Recon[/i]. Like I said, they'll probably end up changing it again.

The name makes more sense, but it doesn't quite carry the exciting weight of Recon. I still think it's a smart move by Bungie/Microsoft.

Good, I disliked the original name because of... bad thoughts (then again, this was before we knew about the true Vidmaster award.) Halo 3: ODST sounds more straight forward.

Too many syllables. It isn't as snappy as "Halo 3: Recon" and it makes a bad acronym. This was a terrible name change decision, but I'm sure the game will still be sweet.

I guess Bungie was maybe getting fed up with all the recon connotations associated with the old name. Doesn't have a very nice ring to it though. "Hay-low-three" "Oh-dee-ess-tee". No jingle possibilities either. LOL I really don't care about the name except it has Halo in it and that means I can associate Gregorian chants to it. :)

now why would they change the name? this is bizzare and it doesnt even get its own like top storyits aside in the blog which almost no 1 reads couldnt it have waited till friday or next cuz thanks giving in the states bungie u never cesse to amaze me

The title doesn't stick quite as well. I believe this will make for a more appropriate game title however...
