Pulled a slight dick move today
So I joined a couple guys for a PoE Lvl 34 run and we breezed through the first 4 rounds. We finally get to round 5 and start priming our ghallarhorns, until one of the guys says he doesn't have one....
So then we ask him if he has ANY other rocket launcher and he says no. Now the dude is a Lvl 33, rank one for vanguard and he has never gotten a legendary rocket launcher.
Anyways, we suggest to him to go look in the tower for a vendor that might be selling something useful for him and in the meantime I ended up looking for another player with a ghally. Ended up leaving the party chat I was in with the guy and inviting someone else.... Am I a dick?
Edit: Success thread is a success.
Edit 2: In addition, we gave it about 4 attempts before we asked him to go to the tower for another RL. It doesn't bother me if people disagree with the way me and the other guy left him.
Of all the other posts that I've made on this site, ones that are in some ways helpful...this one becomes popular. Lmao. People love to voice their disagreement with things.

I mean I would have told the guy "Hey man, sorry but without a good weapon we can't do the DPS. Good luck on your future grinding!" Which could also be perceived as a dick thing to do, but I'd rather do that than just abandon them and leave the party. Can't stand when people just leave the party and game without so much as a word, mainly if it's a group you've been with for awhile.

1 ReplyIf someone is clearly holding you back (and I mean to the point where success is almost impossible) then it's understandable for you to get someone else. Your misjudgement however was the way you did it. Be honest with the guy and say you can't do it rather than leave someone hanging, or better still don't quit after 4 attempts if you have the time

At this point, I kinda hope they remove Gjallarhorn from the game, or Nerf it so hard that it just fires chickens and marshmallows. "Everyone shoot it with Gjallarhorn" isn't a strategy, it's an exploit.

honestly, nah. I mean, it's pointless to keep trying if you don't have the right fire power. I would've attempted to try doing it the long way, but i doubt he'd have the right fire power for that too.....so... nah. I'm okay with wasting money, but i hate wasting my time.

This is the problem with such easily accessible endgame. You used to have to work to get into shït which meant you'd have put the time in to have some decent gear. It sucks to kick anyone, particularly if they've put in their best up to that point. But don't come to endgame material without endgame gear.
