Oh my gosh you don't need keys!!!! All the queens chest drops is crappy mediocre weapons!!! Stop wasting your time with keys! Okay yes sometime exotics drops BUT your wasting your time unless you have: Opened the gorgon chest 3x Killed Atheon 3x Killed death singer 3x Killed Crota 3x Done the nightfall 3x Keys give garbage enough with this. If you have time to farm keys you probably will think all the queens weapons suck anyway. The first time you EVER open a treasure chest on a given character you get an exotic. Which is why last week tons of people got exotics for opening the chest. But this week you won't if you've already opened the chest ever on that character. The first time EVER, this is NOT on a weekly reset... Save keys for exotic bounties and level 35 for the shader and ship the first time you beat it. The armor and weapon cores and etheric light and guaranteed with or without a key... Guaranteed rewards: 32 Armor core 34 Weapon Core Etheric light 35 Armor core Weapon core Etheric light Side chests loot pool: Materials Motes of light Strange coins Treasure keys Exotic weapons Queens chest: Queen weapon Motes Of light Strange coins Possible exotic about equal to small chests after first open on a character. The bottom line: the guaranteed rewards from PoE is what you should be after, everything else is just bonus goodies. Unless you are in dire need for a mediocre queens weapon then DONT spend hours farming keys and then make a post about how you won't do the prison of elders until Bungie delivers keys to your vault. Edits for clarification; I'm not telling anyone you can't farm for keys, all I'm saying is that in the several hours it may take to get 1 or 2 keys, it's not worth the one legendary queens weapon you will get. The primaries have no elements on them, and some of the secondaries and heavies fall short of other similar weapons obtained via other means. There are two scenarios where farming for keys it totally worth it. 1) if you have the elder cipher bounty and no keys. 2) if you have never opened a queens chest on that character since you will receive an exotic. A more efficient way to spend this time would be to do a raid, where you can obtain elemental primaries and get 2 shots at an exotic. Edit: Apparently I haven't been clear or people are just not reading the post. You need keys for the exotic bounty, THAT is worth it. What I'm saying is it would be wise to avoid grinding for keys for several hours and then using them without the exotic bounty unless you have never opened the queens chest before on that character. Overall you would need 6 keys to get the best rewards from the chest. 1 for each elder cipher bounty (3 total weapon choices) 1 for the first time opening the chest on a character. X3 for 3 characters. To get exotics you could delete a character and remake them then open the chest and repeat. Edit: Many feel attacked. I'm not saying you can't farm keys. I enjoy it myself with a big group of friends. This post is meant as a guide for those who have a misunderstanding on how keys work and what they offer. Personally I believe (an opinion) that doing raids is a more efficient means of obtaining exotic weapons for those searching for such, that doesn't mean you can't farm keys though if you want to or enjoy it.
