This Is just a theory and if you have not played Crota's end and don't want it spoiled stop reading this. So when you get to Crota at the end of the raid you see behind him a large sphere cracked and broken.. First of all I firmly believe this "Sphere" is Oryx himself.. Why I say that? When your running across the bridge into the light you get teleported.. to where? If you inspect your surroundings you'll notice your not in or on the moon anymore you appear to be no pun intended a void of darkness. If you look up there's no rocky ceiling or walls your just In a dark void possibly space or elsewhere. Now if you remember In the mission shrine of oryx your ghost says that It's power is tethered to the edge of the solar system and I believe this is where your teleported. Another factor to strengthen this theory Is during the Eris mission Where you destroy Crota's crystal and banish his soul he wasn't destroyed his soul was simply banished not destroyed. The reason I believe that it is oryx Is because how else would Crota's soul be able to take physical form to combat you? It makes perfect sense that Oryx is indeed behind Crota The sphere seems to reform that stone structure at the beginning if the fight and then places Crota's soul in physical form. It also will wipe your fireteam by literally getting in your face you know what I'm talking about that giant sun like sphere that pops up if one of your fireteam members dies and then you have to shoot it to prevent the wipe. The only possibility is that it is Oryx. Where else would Crota's soul go to? or where better than to return to his father and master who else has the ability to place crota In his physical form.. And yes I'm aware of the witches that can bring his soul into form but their most likely used because Oryx's power doesn't go far enough to reach the moon the witches most likely strengthen the tether to Oryx's power. Now that iv established the fact that it is indeed Oryx and ranted forever let me get to the major point of this topic. That Oryx is another traveler possibly corrupted by darkness or a dark traveler entirely.. If you inspect him closely he's in the shape of a sphere a "Sphere" who else is in the shape of a Sphere? In the center of the sphere or "Oryx" there's a greenish orb of light but surrounding it Is a cracked and shattered frame of a sphere just like the traveler.. Maybe Oryx was like the traveler but was corrupted and found the hive and brought them into an age of darkness just like the traveler found us and brought us into an age of light. Maybe Oryx is the hive's version of the traveler who knows maybe one day we'll discover more about Oryx or possibly bring him to an end.. Note: So apparently the giant over soul is pretty much confirmed not Oryx but that still doesn't change my opinion about oryx being a dark traveller. I truly think that Oryx is an alternate traveller a dark version worshipped by the hive I think it found them corrupted them and guides them to spreading its will just like the traveller guides us to spread the light Still its just a theory of mine though.
