Ghally... Why, just why...
This is going to piss a few fanboys off but I gotta ask...
Why does Bungie allow a weapon to stay in the game which takes away all forms of "skill" & negates the need for strategy in all PvE end game content...
Seriously, each week people post here with "here is how to beat nightfall in 20 seconds, or " here is how to beat Skolas in under a minute" or the oft used "git gud skrub, u can't join cause no Ghally" due their fireteam using all ghally...
I don't have one & have had the game since day 1; yes I really really (fkin really) want one, but I still must ask why... Why would a company who's sole game style is grind grind grind, keep this thing so ridiculously amazing that it can beat any boss before the true "test" of an encounter can even kick in.
Seems ridiculous to me, but as I don't have one (& at this point it seems I never will) who cares... I'll just be over here grinding away in hopes of one day "giting gud"

[spoiler]I don't care what weapon it is (although it's generally ghally, thus this post) but anything that lets you end a fight before the mechanic that requires teamwork kicks in, seems like lazy game design. (See also, arc snipers this week)[/spoiler]

You will get one some day. I didn't have one up until last December. Then shortly after my first one, I started receiving them once every couple weeks. Right now I'm down to 1 per character. It's a good way to farm exotic shards at the moment.

3 RepliesLook man i was right there with you having a little over 500 hours and also playing since day one. I did every activity that dropped exotics and still nothing. I had almost given up hope, that was untill the dlc dropped. PoE is almost a guarantee that you will get an exotic and now that legendary engrams dont give you anything other then what it suppose to its way easier. Just keep at it and dont stop playing because then you wont get one.

Me and my crew beat skolas today with patience and Time only. It's actually easier this week.

the best part is the "git gud" comment is supposed to refer to skill, as in monster hunter and other games ive seen this catch phrase in, in this case though, its to get a ghorn and then make it so zero skill is involved i honestly wish i never got my ghorn, and i often try to not reveal i have one because then prople start begging me to carry them through nightfalls and stuff i think in the end, once enough people have it, they'll have to nerf it

7 RepliesI've been playing since day one as well. I just chalk it up to one more example of bad balance. Stupid, really. You don't have to have all Gjallerhorns to get Crota to kneel. It's a myth that only 3 Ghallys can take down Skolas. Perhaps it's just human nature. Excluding others as a means to attempt to feel superior.

And It is really powerful but its a heavy weapon (which are supposed to be really powerful) and its also an exotic (which usually are the most powerful out of any other kind). I got lucky and got mine ^_^ in a PoE chest last week. REALLY helps with crota

1 ReplyThis week my team and I beat Skolas with three arc snipers... same technique as with Gjallarhorns, which means it can be done that way for any burn with snipers. Cheesy strategies exist without Gjallarhorn.

Gjallarhorn is good and many people use it as a means of making any Boss easier. It is by no means the fastest or only way to do it. Buddy and I was able to bring Skolas down faster using Black Hammer and Ice Breaker. Least it seemed like it from last week.
