Expansion costs $20 in the US, and £20 in the UK.
So i have paid roughly 70 USD for both expansions which would have cost 40 USD if i was american...
why do we pay more here for the exact same content?? Kinda feel a little ripped off

Try living in Australia where when the game first came out it was $108. Nearly double what Americans pay for their games. And this is with every new game that comes out for us.
-
That sucks they ripped you off more than they did us here in the USA, in all honesty these expansions were such a joke they should have been free.

You need ti look at world economy, the value of the USD compared to pounds or yin or any other currency. Do some more research.
-
I always hate when this happens to other countries. I swear they don't understand exchange rates.
-
We pay VAT at source. Ie its included in the price. Pretty sure it's added later in the US.
-
Same reason I paid more for EVERYTHING when I lived there. VAT at source.
-
Pretty sure uk pays less for the actual game then America does

Activision's accounts department Remember the shipping costs for the Nepal t shirts How do you ship DLC?
-
My stomach... I can't stop laughing.

If you convert the cost to USD, It was around $60-65 for the basic copy when it came out, and around $75 on the xbox live store... how much did it cost in the US?

Edited by MightyJonE: 5/26/2015 1:33:55 AMRip-off Britain, commonly known as R.O.B. In America, for example, you can buy a steak the size of a house for a penny - and STILL have change! Lol I met a bloke from Texas once, and he asked me how could people afford to live in England - everything's so expensive. He said, do you all earn alot of money? I said no, we earn about the same as you!
-
Marketing. Exchange rate has nothing to do with it.
-
Local market economies is the answer. Bungie assumes the liability in case the euro conversion rate changes.
-
VAT plus everyone like to rip us off.
-
In New Zealand we pay $110 for most games and in Australia they pay $80-90 our dollar is almost the same as theirs. The destiny expansion pass is $40. Every country outside the states gets a raw deal for games unless you are a pc gamer.

Business rules over workers and consumers in this country unfortunately:(((

Minimum wage is higher in the UK, but thats not a good enough excuse to charge nearly twice the amount money for some DLC. The min wage is not twice as much here
-
Maybe minimum wage is higher in uk
-
Never understood that, exchange rates are nonexistent apparently...

Australia has it worse. Just how economy is set up. Everywhere different
