All of these improvements would be great to have, but the fact is, they are things that ought to have been in the base game. And, in all honesty, they are certainly things that could still be added, with, perhaps, the exception of trading. The light level idea seems very similar to what Bungie has proposed in the HoW, upgrading gear to the new max light level. I do, however, like the idea of having light levels linked to engrams. The trading issue has been addressed countless times on the forums. Many want it (myself included), but the fatal flaw with it is that Destiny just does not have enough content to support such a thing. It was hyped up to have a loot system on the level of Borderlands, and it does, but unfortunately Destiny has about as much variety as Mass Effect 1. Custom colors is another things that many have suggested, and needn't be any more complicated as splitting apart the current 3-part shaders into individual colors that players can equip in one of three slots. The story is something that I don't think can be fixed in the next game, especially if we would be importing our characters from Destiny 1. The biggest problem with the story as it eisits is a lack of a coherent foundation. We don't know who we are, or why we are doing the things that we are doing. The Darkness doesn't seem threatening, and there feels like no real sense of urgency. Building more levels on top of a story that has no foundation is not the answer. Map size is self explanatory. While no area could be called small, none of the are the size of Halo Reach. I think the biggest issue with the sizes of the planet maps is that they seem quite barren, devoid of anything interesting apart from the occasional room or cave with a high level enemy hiding out. All good ideas, but they are certainly not things that we should have to wait on Destiny 2 to get.
