"A Reef scout hunts for years―fighting piracy and ancient traps―to crack one cache and claim the weapons within."
-Summary-
Not to be confused with the 347 Vesta Dynasty, an Exotic Scout Rifle holding the exact same weapon description when it was datamined, the Vestian Dynasty is a new weapon type entirely. It's part of the Sidearm category which is a new Special weapon type, and it is currently unknown whether it'll be the only one in it or if a whole ton of Sidearms were added to the game alongside it. Current speculation is that the Vestian Dynasty will be obtained from finishing The House of Wolves Story content, similar to how we received the Murmur when finishing The Dark Below's story. This is supported by the weapon having a perk in the 'Persistent Perk" category under Arc Burn, giving it a unique feature over other weapons of its type.
-Investigations of the weapon itself-
Through taking apart the perks of the weapon it had equipped at the time, I've figured out the general base stats of the weapon with the default barrel and no modifiers. They are as followed:
Rate of Fire: 100
Impact: 4
Range: ~35
Stability: ~75
Reload: ~96
Magazine Size: 15
Now that we have those stats, we'll go into the barrels, perks, and enhancement upgrades the Vestian Dynasty has.
Persistent Perks: Arc Damage, Performance Bonus
Barrel Upgrades: Smooth Ballistics, Accurized Ballistics, Field Choke
Perk 1: Fallen Disruptor(?), Shank Burn(?)
Enhancement Upgrades: Snapshot, Fitted Stock, Speed Reload
Perk 2: Reactive Reload
-The Sidearm class as a whole and final thoughts-
One thing that I've been asking myself is "Will the Sidearm weapon class break the game?" but to know that, we'd need to know each archetype of Sidearm that Bungie is going to introduce, if any. At the least I wanted to figure out the Precision Damage modifier of Sidearms in PvE and PvP to see how rewarding it is to land them. I checked back to Bungie's stream to find a point where Matt lands a body shot and precision shot on the same enemy during the time he's using it, which in this case was on a Chosen Knight. Body damage was 1120, and the precision damage was 2798. I divided 2798 by 1120 and ended up with, after rounding a bit, a precision damage multiplier of 2.5x in PvE for the Sidearm class. In regards to the Crucible, the precision damage is normally cut in half so it'd be 1.25x over there. Aside from sounding weak, I'm certain it won't be. During the reveal it was doing 101 more damage than Fang of Ir Yut was during the Arc burn segment to the body, so we at least know for certain it is indeed stronger than Scout Rifles in its respective range when dealing body damage, but will be weaker overall as it has a lower precision damage multiplier. (2.50x VS 3.00x)
As for me? I'm extremely excited for the addition of a new weapon type, which appears to have a ridiculous DPS based on estimations so far. What are your guys' thoughts on this weapon and the addition of a new weapon class as a whole? Leave your thoughts in the comments below and have a great day!

That persistent perk isn't performance bonus as the dregs promise from the reveal has the same icon in the same place and it is a new perk which causes you to spawn always with full ammo. Seems to be a perk especially for the side arm class.
-
I need that in my weapon slot immediately. Also, it would be cool to have an exotic one.
-
You do realise it was being used with arc burn modifier
-
With its high rof is basically a Jacobs pistol
-
Thanks for the info! I'm pumped for it as well!
-
Having been given a look at the exotic fallen sidearm now I see its not performance bonus its a new perk that causes it to have ammo on spawn Way better perk
-
The second to last paragraph is mostly stuff i said in my post
-
This is a great overview btw. I can't wait to check it out. I really hope there will be even cooler ones

Edited by puppyk1sses: 5/8/2015 2:45:50 AMCan we wait until we fire the dang weapon before we jump to any conclusions on it?

Edited by Kazakhi Jay: 5/7/2015 8:45:26 AMI'm sorry but there's more power in a half sucked aspirin than that low impact spud gun. When the rounds are spent there should be an option to throw it at the enemy for bonus damage
-
Is it full auto?
-
I want it. That is all!
-
Its a trap!! Necrochasm in legendary form
-
Am I the only one happy about the fact we'll get 15 more grimore to earn
those 5000 kills will be glorious
-
Is that second perk reactice reload and not spray and play? Hard to tell
-
Guys you do remember enemies are bullet sponges and this will do nothing right? One of the bungie players had this gun on the twitch reveal and got a whopping zero kills with it, then later switched it with icebreaker.

-
While I am excited about the weapon, I find it a bit odd to have a "full weapon analysis" when we don't even have our hands on it yet.
-
We're gonna need a bigger vault. Also, great work on this post, it's easy to tell a lot of time and effort went into all getting all this information.
-
Man if we could get something like a g18 in destiny I will literally use nothing but scout rifles
-
Great post! It seems like a good weapon to pair with Universal Remote in the Crucible. Most Crucible maps are short to mid range, and I usually use a sniper with UR. This covers short and long range, but having a good mid range weapon seems much better.
-
So you would be replacing shotgun/sniper with that?
-
Great info... Nice post too
-
So it's a new type of primary weapon? So will the be sidearms of all rarities?
-
Sidearms will be a perfect compliment to scout rifles, which cover long and mid range well but often suffer at short ranges. Currently the only secondary options to a scout rifle are: -a sniper rifle, which is redundant with the primary -a fusion rifle, which due to charge up time cannot be used as a reactionary weapon -shotguns, which cover point blank range well but leave a "dead zone" between point blank and mid range where the scout rifle is less effective.
