Just open them. People tried this when the Dark Below released and it didn't work. Engrams are coded to only give items that were available when they were picked up. If you want a head start on gear, get each faction to within a bounty of ranking up and save completed bounties. Then when the HoW releases, rank up each on and hope you get gear
