Title says it all. If you think otherwise then you're delusional. No other weapon choice is as strong in so many different situations.
Bungie probably can't even balance it at this point without tipping the scales in another direction.
Not even here to rage -- just to state the obvious. So, Bungie, if your team decides to make another Destiny then you all may want to reconsider what makes a weapon truly balanced; because right now any choice but a hand cannon for a primary is a novelty choice and not a niche-role selection.

I like to change it up I switch between red hand and invective our two to the morgue and suros I'm decent with both combos but hand cannon wise prefer red hand over thorn and tlw feels way better and it's the perfect weapon for ce maze along side I ice breaker
-
Hand cannons received a damage fall of nerf. Nobody noticed not because they are OP But because they have an easy learning curve. Eventually players branch out and once we can reforge legendaries I suspect we will see a larger variety of weapons with less steep learning curves. Your statement is made too early.
-
If you're actually good these weapon nerfs aren't necessary. Don't get me wrong, my kd is pretty mediocre, but I enjoy crucible a lot. The only thing that irks me is felwinter sniper, however as much as people kill me with it, I kill others just as much with "two to the morgue", so it doesn't matter. I still use the Suros, I kill TLW & Thorn users all the time, they kill me too, it's what happens in a COMPETITIVE GAMEMODE, people gravitate toward what's efficient. Either adapt and find better combos, or just get left behind, but please stop crying for nerfs its extremely unecessary at this point.
-
Completely agree. The Last Word or game over
-
You're right OP but luckily most people suck at using a hand canon at distance or very close range. That's where shotty and scout rifle typically even things out from my experience.
-
I love u suing hand cannons with my hunter, fatebringer or timurs lash
-
I use red death, decided to switch to DOT thorn and got destroyed prefer my red death
-
I suck with hand cannons. Scout rifles and pulse rifles seem better for me.
-
We just buff other weapons, not Nerf the hand cannons.
-
Well i manage with pulse rifles and even scout rifles on the larger maps
-
You can thank all the people that cry nerf every time they get killed for that not Bungie. The forums are littered with "nerf" and "too OP" posts. Adapt to the stronger weapon types or go play Atari. Stop with all the crying.

Edited by Sergeant: 4/26/2015 6:16:04 PMYes i agree with you but not all hand cannons are easy to use. Not all the hand cannons have a crazy Time To Kill. If you go from using Thorn or The Last Word to using a Hawkmoon you will see my arguement. Only some hand cannons are out of line but why complain people don't want the truth they want what benefits them.
-
Scout rifles are way better in my opinion. MIDA crushes in PvP.
-
Wrong. Pulse rifles are a nice alternative to handcannons. I've seen skilled players even successfully use scout rifles. But I must agree with you to this degree, Hand cannons and pulse rifles rule the crucible. It's hand cannon or pulse rifle. If you are not using one or the other, you are handicapping yourself. "So Dirty Dan, how would you balance the crucible?" Nerf Handcannons and pulse rifles immediately.
Just kidding.

The real solution is being auto rifles back to their original stat. And maybe increase scout rifle's rate of fire across the board.
-
The Mida-Multi Tool so far for me is even to those hand cannons in PvP

Edited by cuzzybubba1: 4/25/2015 8:45:19 PMPulse rifles easily go toe to toe with any hand canon. I have no issues dispatching TLW, Thorn or Hawkmoon. Are they great? Yes with Thorn being the better IMO but outside of Pulse Rifles no other options.
-
I roll with mida for anything and everything.
-
Yes. #HandCannonMasterRace
-
Honestly your opinions are hilarious. I'm not even going to argue. Anyone who can make such a claim obviously cannot be reasoned with.
-
I was using B-line about an hour ago and got slaughtered by both Thorn and TWL at long distance. Strange... So strange.
-
I use everything and I do just as well with all. Hand cannons are my favorite, but it's about knowing your weapon and your opponents. If I'm using a scout and I keep getting wrecked by HC, then I make sure to stay out of their range and in scout range. HC have decent range but by the time you've lined up your long range shot, I've already put 4 shots into your melon with scout.
-
Edited by ToughGuy051: 4/25/2015 2:28:49 PMThere damage can be cut in half over a distance. They have a downside. Are they strong at there intended range, yes. But its supposed to hit like a truck its a handcannon. Have you seen the size of those bullets in real life! I love handcannons but a scout will do better to tag people from fare away without damage and stability penalties. Please dont be a reason to nerf yet another gun type thats been nerfed twice already.

For PvE I would generally agree with you but for PvP, different story. Let me introduce you to the Red Death, Oversoul Edict, Pryedith's Time piece (and no I can't spell it this is a best guess), and Bad JuJu (at least for me). I can't speak for or against Hawkmoon because I play on Xbox and thus do not have the glorious fire arm. However, the top PvP exotics primaries are (in no particular order): Red Death The Last word Hawkmoon (probably I don't know haven't used it) Thorn (probably) Of those i'd say red death is probably the best in PvE I out gun thorn users on a regular basis with Bad Juju. Same with any other gun. I am best with bad juju. But if you want to use gali in PvP or truth. Maybe invective or Patience and Time or ThunderLord. Then I recommend the Oversoul Edict. It'll still out gun exotic user's primaries (with consistent head shots). Best primary gun in PvE is still hands down the Fate Bringer which is a hand cannon. But it isn't too great in PvP it is not bad just not good. Currently in PvP pulse rifles are the best not hand cannons.

I did ok with Strange Suspect, legendary pulse rifle, when I actually cared in games. Like 19-9 and 14-5. You just have to keep situational awareness, monitor your radar, and play to your weapons strengths. In my case with Strange Suspect trying to keep mid range. So no handcannons are not the end all be all of PvP games.
-
Hand cannons are the best overall choice. Pvp and pve, raid and rocs. That's just how the game is

Nobody Said A Word About Hand Cannons Since Launch, And Now All Of A Sudden Their Too Powerful? They Have Already Been Nerfed Once, And Now You Want Them Nerfed Again? No, How About Auto Rifles Get Their Damage Back, And We Get Bigger Maps So Scout Rifles Can Be Used More Comfortably.
