I made a website for my Destiny clan some time ago. One of my clan member asked me if we could have some information about our Destiny characters on the website, to preview how good our clan members were. Being an IT student, I was interested in the challenge. So it all began with a simple Destiny player card project, and it kinda got out of hand...
After I discovered the amazing possibilities Bungie had offered us with its API, I began to work on a mobile-friendly website companion. Think Bungie's website, but faster. Well... that's what I hoped for in the beginning. I wanted to do exactly what Bungie did, but without all the extra 3D stuff and with faster loading, along with compatibility for older smartphones (as the official app only supports Android 4+, and Bungie's website is not mobile friendly). That's what I did, without much success... So I changed my mind. I did not do exactly like Bungie's website or app. I did my own thing.
Dinklebot, your personal companion for tracking and showing your Guardians. http://dinklebot.net
That's the website that I did in my free time, and that I desperately wanted to show to other players like you. It's not the best, I know it could benefit many improvements, but I love working on it, and I'm always open to suggestions.
My website is entirely mobile-friendly (giving your screen is at least 320px large, which it should be), and is currently translated in four languages: English, French, German and Japanese. Sorry if some translations may look off, as I had to do some translating myself in languages I'm not fluent with. That's also why I haven't done the translation for Espaniol, Italian and Portuguese. It may come in the future though.
There is probably a lot to come, like optional 3D previews (delayed loading, on the click of a button), better gear suggestions, more achievements for end game players (plus the original ones, if possible), and much more. Like I said, I'm open to suggestions and criticism, and if you're willing to help me, I'm willing to listen to you and improve my website that way.
So please visit my website and tell me about it! Thanks a lot!
TL;DR: I made a website about Destiny, check it out: http://dinklebot.net

Well done, I'm taking a beginners coding course this summer (I'm in high school not college) and I hope to enjoy it as much as you do

Very nice, the hard work looks like it paid off

Absolutely love this website! Just needs Raid tracking, but I understand that that isn't in the API at moment.

Gotta say I really like the site, especially the speedy interface! Very user friendly, and a nice simple way to track your progression. I've got a suggestion, if you'd like to take a look; There's a simple but awesome google chrome app that lets you manipulate your vault and guardian loadout straight from your computer browser, called Destiny Item Manager. You may have heard of it, but if not; The interface is fast and simple like that of your website. You can equip weapons not only from your characters to the vault and vice versa, but from Character to Character. I thought integrating a tool like that into your site, without a doubt, would make a valuable one-stop Destiny too that every Guardian would enjoy greatly. And if it seems too much to create your own version of this tool, perhaps you could partner up with the app's creator, and try to combine forces! You'd have a better companion than the app and the website combined, at that point. You'd go completely unrivaled honestly. Just an idea to consider. Thanks for all your hard work OP!
