Steam Virus?

I have recently been thinking about buying Garry's Mod on Steam, however in the past Steam has given me...issues. Back on my old computer, I had steam and only had 1 game, Team Fortress 2, however I learned a similar game went free on steam as well, Gotham City Imposters, so I decided "why not?" And downloaded the game. It never finished, and I never understood why? Then my virus protection program STOPZilla detected a virus in the computer... Since then I have 2 new computers and I want to try steam again...but just in case, is there any reason behind Gotham City Imposters giving me a virus? And is there any way to prevent it?

  • Steam is good and you should definitely get Gmod (note, you need Counterstrike to play most of it so you'll need to buy that or get the source code online and update it manually.

  • My computer thinks the .exe file for The Walking Dead games is a virus. Whenever I wanna play, I have to turn off my firewall and patch the game. So you may not have actually gotten a virus, just your antivirus made a mistake.
