We should have the ability to adjust the difficulty of patrol mode, as once you hit level 20, patrol becomes extreme easy, and the missions become monotonous. As it goes higher...
- More modifiers are added
- Enemy level increases
- More Majors/Ultras appear.Bosses can spawn in public areas.
- Public Events become more frequent
- Public Events become more challenging; multiple waves of enemies in Extraction Crews; More than one Warsat with less space to defend. If an enemy enters the circle around the Warsat, progress stops.
- Patrol missions become more complex; multi step patrol missions that involve more than just shooting stuff and Standing still for a few seconds
- "Enemy is moving against each other" happens more often, in more areas.
- Weather Events can occur
Blizzards and Sandstorms can appear in the Cosmodrome and Mars, respectively. Reduce visibility and movement. Moon could spin out of orbit temporarily. Sparrow will inaccessible. Thunderstorms can occur on Venus. This will cause your radar to malfunction a la Inferno Mode Crucible.
- Loot and rewards increase in value.Enemies drop rare and legendary engrams more frequently the higher in difficulty we go.
Patrol missions will reward more reputation, and will give more planetary materials, based on the difficulty of the patrol setting. Majors have a chance to drop materials such as Strange Coins, Motes of Light, or Ascendant Shards and Energy. In public events, rewards are distributed based on performance in the event. The more damage you do a target, or the longer you hold down the Warsat, or the more enemies you defeat, the greater your rewards. Prevents AFKers from joining an event for the rewards, but not taking part in it.
If you agree with these thoughts. Please bump. Add any improvements you believe should be added.

Quick win: add a nightmare mode for patrol (also posted in deejs thread) Patrol is an area which would be my favorite experience in destiny, the problem is it is too easy now my characters are leveled up, and performing missions often feels like a grind because of the lack of challenge. I would love to have the option to unlock a nightmare mode with super tough enemies, with more interesting bounties once you hit a certain level cap (maybe 29?). You could keep the easy mode for developing players, or alternatively introduce more challenging danger zones to the existing maps. For instance my I absolutely love the crashed plane site in cosmodrome, its such a cool location to engage enemies - but it is not much of a challenge anymore since the enemies are only level 3 or 4. When I first started playing, I remember being intruiged to see tough enemies such as the mysterious blades of crota run around, but now the appeal is lost as he's over with two shots of a shotgun. If you added a mode with level 30+ enemies with some of the features you get on nightfalls such as lightswitch, epic and angry, it could make going on a patrol to run missions - even something as mundane as collecting docking caps from dregs - an exciting challenge. If it also led to more exciting loot drops, maybe even raid gear, shards and exotic bounties (maybe not exotic gear or engrams), or high levels of materials that could be farmed to a reasonable level then it would also include a decent reward system. Public events could be exactly the same as developed today just with the added toughness you might find that you attract higher level players. For me this would represent a quick win - it just uses features that have already been developed in other parts of the game to address a number of issues at once, namely - It would immediately give some of the maxed out players something new to do - It would present a new way to obtain gear (outside of the raids) for a decent enough challenge - It would reduce the feeling of grinding for the same bounties due to the added difficulty - By mixing up it where some of the toughest enemies are located then it would encourage exploration of the destiny maps

Awesome.. They also need to change up bounties. How about a real true bounty. Someone is loose somewhere on 1 of the planets. You need to actually track them down, not just follow a white arrow. Maybe it takes hours or days, but the reward could be huge.

Edited by Ne0nK0ala: 4/13/2015 1:47:04 AMThe problem would be that they would have to put you in a separate patrol from others, things aren't as easy as simply doing it. A better idea would be to make high level areas within the normal patrol instance, that would require less work and resources, and will probably be doable.

I hate these kind of threads! And the only reason I hate them is because they're always such great ideas and sound like so much fun. Making me realize how Destiny could be so much better but it's not 😩 And I guess we can dream about it being that way one day. But let's face it, it most likely won't ever happen..

We need more in world bosses, such as being able to fight your way to the spider tank and taking it down again. It's the only in world boss from a strike that we have access to.

I should not be able to go to the moon, and waltz through the hellmouth and out the other side alone, and without really even trying. It should take at least a full 3, and be incredibly difficult. The hellmouth should be crawling with hive. Literally. Same goes for the deeper levels of the other planets, and their respective enemy types. But we cater to the old gen, and the offline-soloists.
