PVP to get Thorn is Stupid
Making it so you have to do PvP to get Thorn is the dumbest thing in the game. Me and friends have been at this for almost 2 weeks and we still haven't got 200 points. The PvP is to hard and chaotic, either take the Thorn Bounty out of PvP, make it 1000 points of void damage to NPC enemies. Or nerf all the Class abilities, nerf the Hunter FULLSTOP! they are way to OP with the Blade Dancer Super Charge. Me and all my friend are level 32 with exotic and legendary gear, I would be luck to get a kill a game. It is pathetic, now I come from COD haveing normaly a 1.82 KtD so no I am not bad at PvP, Destiny PvP is just Shit.

Thorn is a gun meant almost exclusively for the Crucible. What use do you have for it if you despise PvP in this game?

Dude. Its not that bad if you have fps pvp experience like you say then it shouldn't be all that hard to do. I completed the thorn bounty back in early November i think so auto rifles where king of the hill. I was using a gunslinger hunter so i didn't have grenades or supers with void to help out. I also didn't have the Atheons epilog either. So i just played control so i had general idea of where enemies spawned and where they where going. On some maps i used a sniper and stayed back but most times i had the 77 wizard in tight spaces mid range corridors. Also rockets is a mistake for the thorn bounty. Heavy machine gun is the way way to go. Once you get the heavy ammo DO NOT run into battle hold your machine gun ammo and stay back for a minute or so so that all opposing machine guns and rockets get fired off on your team mates. Lol. But that is the best way to do it when limited to a damn gunslinger

Edited by Talidin1337: 5/4/2015 2:38:32 AMIt's not the only bounty that makes you do this. I think all of them have a PVP section at some point. Thorn's is simply the hardest. If you're decently good at crucible, you will be fine. If you are not decently good at crucible, then learn ways to become better. Natural skill can only get you so far, you have to learn fighting strategies, multiple play styles, and how to work each map to your advantage. Don't settle with the fact that you will slowly become better over time via. experience, make yourself become stronger, speed the process. There are ways of doing that. If you need a place to start or need resources to look to, I can point you in the right direction.

Hey champ if you look at my pvp statistics you would know that I'm not too flash at it either. However instead of having a cry and giving up, I'd simply suggest you use a void walker warlock with a void damage shotgun. (If you don't have a void walker class, just use the shotgun) Note: I did the bounty on my hunter in 2 days and sure it was frustrating, but it's not that hard if you keep your cool and get pick offs.

I did the whole thorn bounty on Saturday. Took about 3 hours, it was fun having a challenge.

That's not even the difficult part of the bounty just stick with it you'll get it. If I could do it you can.

1. The story about Thorn is that the Guardian actually turned on and killed other Guardians. So it's fitting. 2. The Crucible is so different from many other PVP. It does take luck but also skill with all the perks and abilities out there. Keep at it, it's an amazing weapon so it's worth the struggle.

Wow i was about to sympathize with you until you mouthed off about hunters having it easy take your titan/warlock lame ass outa here i got my thorn in 2 days sure it was hard but to see you get off so badly tells me you dont deserve a thorn.

No, you are bad at PvP if you struggle to get one kill. Dredgen Yor was a guardian who was among the best in the Crucible. It makes no sense to take the Crucible part of this assignment out. Being level 32 means nothing, only that you got lucky with armor drops. To be honest a level 27 can do just as good if not better. My advice, have separate weapons and armor for PvE and PvP.

It is not hard to get the kills. The community has said how to do it over and over. Remember it is a bounty. So get a void sniper rifle, void primary and a void rocket launcher of machine gun. Stay back and don't try to get into a fire fight. For ever kill you can die twice.
