Thought on Gjallarhorn. (If you don't have anything to contribute, don't read.)
Not going to make this lengthy, but here we go.
(Just want to gauge the opinion of the people.)
I don't think Xur should sell Gjallarhorn because it would no longer be special. I've grinded and played this game for a while now and I think I've earned my Ghorn. But I don't think kids who got the game last week who've only played for a few hours and have never even done the Vault of Glass should just buy it. Not to mention, the game would overall be easier if EVERYONE would be packing a Gjallarhorn. There are some guns Xur should sell and others he should not. This link gives more insight on the story.

Update 1: Well, the people made some valid points about Xur and Gjallarhorn. Just to clear some stuff up, I posted this just to see what the people had on their minds. Second, the link shows that Xur selling Gjallarhorn is now possible and could happen any Friday now. Right now, I'm on the fence. It would be nice for everyone to have a Gjallarhorn, but I just don't want anyone to brag about now lol.

Played over 700 hours before gally dropped then 4 in one week. I think Xur should sell it before next dlc so everyone who hasn't had one drop gets to experience it. As for myself I prefer launchers without tracking, more gratifying kills plus rockets go where I aim and require a bit more skill. I only ever use gally on Crota

Proud Gjallarhorn owner. But only use it for certain situations. Prefer Truth in Crucible (or machine guns). Like to use other exotics, so I generally just pull this out for Crota, Valus strike, solar Nightfalls (if I'm not using Icebreaker), Seige of Warmind, and public events. Otherwise I'm usually sporting a machine gun. Anyway, it wouldn't upset me for Xur to sell it. It's a great weapon, but not a one gun-fits-all.

Just because you grinded for hours and hours doesn't mean you earned it. I have 3 friends, all with G-Horn, and none of them "earned" it. One friend got it from Crucible 4 days after the game came out. And the other two...well frankly I'm sick of carrying their asses through every Nightfall, every Raid....and they get to have G-Horn and I don't? No one "earns" a G-Horn. You got lucky...just like everyone else. And the fact that you think you "earned it" makes me think you're a shit player. No one "earns" anything except Exotic Bounty weapons. So my point is, yes Xur should sell it. I'm sick of seeing posts like this talking about the countless hours you put into "earning" your gun while I come across the shittiest players who clearly didn't "earn" theirs and I don't have one. In my opinion, you and everyone like you are being selfish pricks.

4 RepliesGjallahorn is the game's most sought after weapon and arguably the best. With all that being said, I'd appreciate it if tentacle face didn't sell the game's best weapon. Because really, what company just practically give away the game's best weapon. None of them do, why should destiny? Why should Destiny hand you the best weapon in the game? Now for the people who've been here since day 1 playing hopefully to get Gjalalhorn, I feel for you. And I hope you get Gjallahorn (and odds is you are). But just because 5% of the player base actually deserved Gjallahorn doesn't mean everyone should have it. And as a final thought, don't you think it's good for Destiny that [b][i][u]one[/u][/i][/b] weapon that's sought after be left off Xur's loot table? I mean, he sold Suros in its prime. The last word. Red Death (right after the patch made it top 5 best crucible weapon). Let me guess next you want him to sell Thunderlord? Yes because that's what some of you have come to. Thinking that every exotic should be handed to them because of the loot system. Let me tell you something, the loot system works exactly how it should, [b][i][u]Randomly[/u][/i][/b]. Because it's RNG. Yes some will have more luck than others but that's what makes the loot even more enjoyable when it does drop. I don't have Hawkmoon, don't see me kicking and screaming about Xur selling it. Even before I got Gjallahorn, I was an advocate for Xur not selling it. Of course I know my efforts are in vain becaus Bungie [b][i][u]will[/u][/i][/b] give in to you "Xurners" and sell the game's best weapon. And all of you will have it, then it's going to be a tool like icebreaker rather than a weapon. Fireteam leaders will say "okay everyone, pull out your Gjallahorns!" Like they do icebreaker now. And after he sells Gjallahorn, you'll want him to sell Thunderlord. So everyone can have that too. If I get called some insulting name for my opinion on it well that's expected, so go ahead....lash at me because I think differently than you.

I think tracking should be removed from it. Give it some skill to use. I think what should make your guardian unique is appearance. The best way for any game to make you feel special is giving you the ability to change appearance without changing stats. Advanced Warfare does this quite well. This is why I want a cosmetic system in Destiny along with hard to get cosmetic only items. You can be special without the cries of nerf or unbalance. Also ghost shells and lots of variety on class items. In final fantasy x they had an armor item and what appeared on yuna would be like flat hologram hovering above her arm. I think that would be a great idea for warlock bands.

To everyone saying that gally is what keeps people grinding, you're wrong. Gally is the only reason I'd come back so I could level it to max. I already have 3 lvl 32s, every other exotic, have done all the raids too many times, every strike numerous times, tons of weeklies/dailies/nightfalls. Game is just boring now, and the things I would want to do (like solo crota) require a gally. I pretty much just check the forums every Friday to see what xur is selling and maybe help a friend with a nightfall every now and then. Grinding for a gally makes me want to puke. Gally should be a reward for a 20 step bounty with defeating crota on hard as the last step. That would make me come back, turn all op exotics in to ridiculously hard long step bounties instead of stupid rng

They should leave it as a drop only. Though at least the raids would get exponentially easier. Day 3 gally hype woot.

5 RepliesEdited by nextlevelsalty: 4/10/2015 12:47:36 PMI think Bungie would be making a mistake selling Gally, mainly just because it's literally fueling perhaps half of the Destiny populations desire to keep playing, it's like an endgame goal for most people irregardless of how it's attained (it's certainly not 'earned' as most people think it is) and I am sure it would cause even more angst and headbutting in what is already a shitfest of a forum.

1 ReplyAs soon as it's not a requirement for you to have Ghorn to get into uptight raid groups and to be overall successful in every aspect of the game, it shouldn't remain up to pure rng who has the easy time and who still has to be put down because RNGesus wasn't nice to them.

I never want Xur to sell G-horn. It's not that I care if everyone has it I would love for u to have it. However, if Xur sold it then a nerf would come out and I don't want that to happen. They might even nerf all of the rocket launchers bcuz they thought earlier "oh suros is overpowered? Let's nerf it's entire class" and I don't want that to happen to Gjallahorn.

11 RepliesExotics bought are not as special as exotics earned. I know some people hate the word earned because it's RNG. All I mean is that you had to perform some end game activity to have the chance. But my favorite exotic I earned is TLW, I got it beating Ir Yut on Hard. My heart is with that gun. I got gally in nightfall and it is a beast, but you really only use rockets for boss fights. My favorite exotic that I bought is Obsidian Mind. I think it's the best warlock item. But it just doesn't feel as special as my Titan's Helm of Saint-14 that I got in VOG. And yet I still feel it's not as useful as my Obsidian Mind. So shouldn't my Obsidian Mind be the special one?

How special are you? 95% of the time you are using the same weapons as the rest of the players and i would say you look the same as 95% of the players. So again do u feel special in this game for 1 gun? RNG = Random number generator. The word Earned is not involved in the game, change it to luck.

I bought mine from Xur, and got two more from RNG after I played for 500 hours. I wouldn't mind Xur selling it, since I know that not everyone has the time I've had to play.
