My goal her is to hinder players from endlessly holding down the trigger on the last word to get kills. There is one factor as to why: Fire Rate. The stats are false and the "Fan Fire" perk does not describe the higher-then shown fire rate and the full auto mode, a perk non exclusive to other hand cannons. In stats TLW has the firerate/impact as thron but in reality, fires much faster. To give you a grasp of what I am talking about, the higher-fire rate class of scout rifles are about the same as TWL. A hand cannon for crying out loud. If were to to introduce this gun in an alternate universe where TLW didn't exist, I would be called out negatively. The whole purposeof hand cannons is to pace your shots, not firing them by full auto mode. And if you actually do not hold down the trigger, good skill, I comend you. But there still are other parts. The stability. This and the fire rate is what makes TLW a full auto favorite. The stability can be high with the right perks, but bad with the wrong. I have used this gun many times ago and I think it's great. However, after seeing how many top players in destiny use last word and the whole simplicity of it, the last word's fame should be over soon, similar to the suros (Auto rifles have been getting allot of hate and nerfs. Cmon bungie. I'd rather use a pulse now.) Here are are my approaches to balancing The Last Word. Keep note how often I use nerf in this post. People: If you want a game to be fair, use the term BALANCE not nerf/buff. These words are too stereotypical unless you want to do something simple like a damge decrease. Here are my approaches to this balance: 1) Nerf the magazine to 5 Buff the reload speed dramatically Replace perfect balance with flared magwell enhancing reload speed Replace hip fire with "precision kills increase reload speed" Slightly buff base stability 2)Nerf fire rate Buff range Nerf magazine to 6 Remove full auto 3)Remove full auto Buff reload speed 4)Nerf damage Buff range To TWL fans: Before the 1.1.1 update, I was all about fusion rifles. I used plan c all the time. Got one hit kills frequently. When the update came out, I was disappointed to find them nerfed. In time, however, I found their choice a quite logical one. This balance is like that. As of any update, it will take time for you to get used to it. However, like how I abandoned most fusion rifles, some of you may abandon last word and find a new weapon. As of any update, majority opinion wins. Okay, I am open to criticism here. Make it CONSTRUCTIVE, not a poorly worded phrase like "Your nerf sucks you're just buthurt lol".
