Attack of the Twang: Banjo Error Code

Hello! Seeing a fairly large increase in Banjo error codes among the community. A few questions: 1. Have you attempted to follow the Banjo troubleshooting guide? 2. What console are you playing on? 3. Are these error codes happening constantly or intermittently? Thanks!

    • I have an xbox one and noticed the banjo error code yesterday. I would start the game and it would say 'Connecting' and then 'Signing In' and I would get the error when the connection seemed to time out. I have had Destiny since September and this is the first time I have had such an outage. I have Comcast in Morgantown, WV. To date, I have done the following to no avail: 1. Reset Xbox one and cleared cache 2. Power cycled router and modem 3. Opened up ports in router firewall per Bungie networking guide 4. Uninstalled and reinstalled the game 5. Added UPnP ports to firewall rules on router 6. Disconnected all other devices from network 7. Run cable from modem straight to xbox 8. Manually set the DNS to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 respectively My NAT is set to open and I have an IP reservation in the router for the Xbox One As with everyone, this is an issue that needs immediate resolution. I have taken leave to raid and do strikes tomorrow and would hate for that to go to waste. All other

It's been more than a week and nothing gets patched or fixed! An offline mode would have been great to add. I can play any other multiplayer game with no issues except Destiny wich i play the most. This game is only online play and then we can't even play it because of this dumb issues.. I actually bought Call of Duty because of this I am starting to like it more.

Hello, I have two ps4 systems and both are not getting access the game server. We have done the trouble shooting and nothing we have waiting and nothing we have reset everything and nothing :-( we are comcast customers so i guess its between the game and the provider.

      • I was playing yesterday morning and since late yesterday I keep getting the Banjo error when signing in. My Nat is Open, I've done the Port forwarding and static IP. Xbox 360 with Comcast Blast Plus. (Williamsport Area) Getting very frustrated and I want a fix as soon as possible... Bungie or Comcast are messing up. Compensation would be nice.

      • Just started getting the banjo error yesterday, before that I was playing the game with no error ever.... 1. I have tried everything to see if the error goes away, I will tether my phone to my xboxone when I get home from work today and give it another try. 2. XBox One .... Comcast (Philly area) 3. Start up the game, says connecting then "tries" to sign in but then the banjo error pops up. I hope this helps. Thanks.

      • Still getting Banjo. Going on 20 hours. PS4. Comcast. Boston. Banjo "troubleshooting" doesn't help. I also shouldn't have to port-forward and turn on NAT and open up risk to my network just to connect to Destiny. What the F is going on???

      • I'm willing to wait for a fix for this, but is there any estimation on when it might be working again? Such as a day or a week.

      • Yes, tried them all and by all accounts my NAT is open, internet xbox live and matchmaking all available ( I can play other games online currently). On Xbox One. Constantly happening over the last 36 hours or so. Comcast ISP, northern Massachusetts. Called Comcast and worked through all their available support options and it persists. As the Comcast tec said, "I'd get in touch with Bungie. Must be on their side"

      • 1. Yes I have attempted all steps of the troubleshooting guide. I have quit the Destiny Applications on the Xbox Dashboard. I have signed in and out of my Xbox Live profile multiple times. I have hard reset my Xbox/Router/Modem over and over again. I have manually set the DNS servers on my Xbox, Router and Modem to both OpenDNS and Google's DNS servers neither worked. I am wired to my Xbox, I attempted bypassing my router and plugging straight into my Modem, did not resolve the error. In my 'Settings - Network' on my Xbox it lists my connection as wired and my NAT as open with all services are available. I have also DMZ'd my Xbox's static IP on my router to ensure that this isn't a NAT issue. I have no problem connecting and playing Titanfall. My 'Detailed Network Statistics' are listing 28ms Latency, 116.18Mbps Download, 12.98Mbps Upload, 0% Packet Loss and 1480 MTU. Testing both 'Test network connection' and 'Test multiplayer connection' displays the message 'It's All Good' 2. Xbox One (I have 3 consoles (Mine and 2 roommates), all 3 are having the same issue, error 'banjo') 3. This has been a constant error when attempting to log on to the Destiny servers, it happens after launching the game, 'Press A to Play' I press A, it says 'Connecting; in the bottom right, followed by 'Signing In' and then fails and displays error code 'banjo', again, same spot on all 3 consoles. Unable to log in or play. 4. ISP is Comcast, I'm in Northeastern Connecticut.

            • Hear is a temporary fix for comcast gateways only (arris, technicolor, Cisco ) this will fix you're connection problem but will limit you to one device. Log in the gate way 10.0.0.1 this is all comcast gateway ip log in. admin-admin password-password you should be on the main page gateway>at a glance on the top hit bridge mode this will make the gateway a stand-alone mode witch means only one device can hook up to it on port 1 it will change the IP address and you should be able to get back on to destiny. Now this is a work around till bungie find a fix for this.

            • Comcast in Connecticut. Banjo error on both PS4 and Xbox One. Been working fine for months. Every other program works on both systems except for Destiny. So my question would be what is Destiny doing different that other games are not.
