When I did Crota the first time, my brother kept yelling into the mic and I thought I was going to get kicked, I never did a raid before and I was really nervous I was going to get kicked. I was shaking and I felt sick to my stomach I started to sweat when we finished I felt like a champ.

My first raid completion(VOG) I was shaking uncontrollably. That always happens in a very epic or climactic event. I was nervous and proud.

My first raid was in the VoG when it first came out. The clan I was with at the time had 16 members and I was in the first group of six to try it out. Our leader at the time requested that no one go online and look at strategy because he wanted us to figure it out on our own. Day 1 (3 hours) We got to the Templar but could not beat him. We died many, many , many times. Day 2 (4.5 hours) We beat Templar, made it through the maze and jumping sequence, defeated the Gatekeeper, and became Aetheons bitch after another day of many, many, many deaths. Day 3 (3 hours) We finally beat Aetheon, but only after cheating and looking online at the strategy to jump onto the center island and use sniper/heavy machine guns. It was very frustrating and aggravating at times but im glad I was in there with friends and clanmates and that we got it done. I think it helped that we spread it out over three days (Fri-Sun) so we could decompress and calm our nerves.

Lol you do realize this is a game right? No need to feel nervous or sick. Screw for brother he sounds like a scrub yelling over the internet lol. He must be compensating for something ;).
-
It all went terribly wrong but being a 31 with maxed legendary weapons doing normal vog i actually did pretty well now I have 3 32s a g horn and I can solo crota normal everyone starts somewhere glad to see you enjoyed it man
-
Trying to find someone to help me start my first. It's been almost two hours :/
-
Last night had 5 level 32's carry me through Hard Crota. I didn't have tracking rockets or anything. I'd never completed Crota, even on normal. I'd seen videos though so I knew what I was doing. Came away with Word of Crota, Gauntlets, and Chestpiece. All in all, a good night
-
They told me to go up behind the boomer tower and knife the wall then I died trying to shoot the oversoul with a rocket
-
Upsetting 3 hrs in vog normal and got materials and chatterwhite at the end of it all..
-
Didn't have communication with my team.. My two worst fails were when I picked up the relic and had no idea what to do with it and when I didn't know where I was going in the parkour.
-
My first raid was crota, I had no idea what to do, I was just following this one dude around, I even followed him to crota cause he was sword bearer! But I felt so accomplished when I was the one that beat the thrall cave, and in the end I was surprised because everyone was saying I was lucky for getting
black hammer
but I guess that's just begginers luck

Just stared raiding this week (Day one player). I'm always scared of letting the team down.

Edited by Zoomie517: 3/27/2015 8:35:05 PMI remember my early raid days. I loved the people that took me through the first couple of times. They kept it simple for me but put me in the middle of whatever was going down. The bad parts are too numerous to list. Dying constantly. Running in to the wrong area at the wrong time. Kiting critters accidentally. You name it, I've screwed it up. All that said, it is awesome when you become competent and really contribute to the team. First, tell your brother to stop yelling or you'll give him a reason to yell. When you're freaked out about not making mistakes, you don't need anyone being a butthole. Crota amd Crota HM are easy with a satisfactory group of people. With A few over achievers in the party, you can dang near nap through it. And to be clear, I'm a so-so player at best. I just had a ton of support to teach me what to do and what not to do. Most vets with a lick of common sense are fantastically supportive. They will expect screw ups and deal with them without missing a beat. Get with a chill group. Ask lots of questions. Have fun! Maintain a laugh to wet your pants ratio of 10-1.

I remember first time doing VoG, jumping on platform after gorgon took me almost an hour...we were laughing, so much fun. Best raid ever.
-
Never done one. But can understand the pressure. Think it is why I never have.
-
I made a Bunch of mumbling noises and being shaky
-
Shaking and feeling sick 0.o i aint trolling but you gotta calm down boy! They supposed to be fun lol Congrats on getting it done tho =) get any good loot? My first was VoG the first day it came out so we all where clueless at that point. Took us all day :-o amazing getting it done tho and i still use that VoC

My first raid was with people that I already knew, so I had no worries of being kicked lol.
-
I was in a raid group yesterday with a first timer.on Norm mode, atheon. He gets the G horn!! He didn't even know what it was either. I hate this game
-
Like a virgin, Ooh! Touched for the very first time!
-
Dude, if you need more practice with raids, and are on PS4; add me, I do raids alot, and am more than willing to help you fully get to grips with the mechanics :).
-
I had a friend explain it to me for the abyss and bridge before I joined my first group. Once my first raid finished the bridge, I had no idea what was going on at Deathsinger. I didn't even know what we had to kill.
-
It gets much easier I was very cautious the first few times. I was so late to raiding I've only done VOG afew times. Ive run CE load and love it. im really looking forward to doing HOW raid fresh out of the box.

My hands were shaking a bit after the first time I killed Crota on hard as swordbearer. Got him down less than half with one sword so we decided to go for it in two swords. The pressure was on but my team took him down nicely and I cut his ass up and got my Warlock his glowhoo, got another truth and the fang. Only after he was dead did I notice my hands trembling a bit.

Feeling like this because I'm socially awkward and having an irrational fear of rejection and being judged are intensified by about 100% because of these forums. It's a nightmare trying to find good information. Usually all I see is "if you're a Warlock you're a scrub." "If you don't have *insert gun* you're a scrub." "If you've never done a raid you're a scrub." -_- Sometimes I wonder if I should be playing this game at all.

Try to run the sword on hard. See how nervous u get. Over 150 sword kills over here :)

Oh so this is where all the beta males hang out.
