Thorn requires MLG skills
I get that exotic bounties are supposed to be hard, but come on Bungie. I didn't think it would take a f***ing MLG to complete the Crucible part of the bounty. It would PROBABLY be easier if you just took out the "Death takes 2 points away" part. Shit pisses me off. Here I am, with the shitty (just obtained) Atheon's Epilogue, and I'm getting lit up because this weapon doesn't cause enough damage. If you didn't f***ing nerf the Auto Rifles, I probably wouldn't be complaining. Either buff the Auto Rifles (again) or fix the bounty. Not asking much, considering the whole community is pissed off with you, Bungie.

Every map in the game is designed to be shotgun heaven. Swordbreaker, run around, shotgun people. All you need is a 0.4 ktd using a secondary weapon.

Void fusion or shotgun is the way to go

Machine gun with void. Preferably Deviant Gravity. High impact and it preserves your bullets, get an area and defend it. I get my highest KD's with that method for the IronB grind for all three characters. If u use other void weapons then u will put yourself in the mix and may suffer from risk reward. Beside the common post that say get good, work on the strategy. Take your time and u will get it. Don't "try" too hard or u will suffer the KD

Focus on a sniper with void.

I did it with the sword breaker and did it In about 1:30 to 2 hours. I'm good but I'm no mlg.

....I've done the bounty several times, I ain't MLG..just got it again this time w/my Hunter, should be fun...it takes a little bit of patience and a decent loadout. ...

Grenades, shotgun/fusion rifle, lmg. Make sure you get heavy every match, play smart and dont charge in. Simple.

Is it on your titan? If so do you have the armamentarium? Run defender and your stickys, use a Void secondary if you have one.

AE sucked even before the nerf. The gun is terrible. Find a sniper, fusion rifle, shotgun, rocket launcher, and/or a machine gun. You'll have a much better time.

1 ReplyGet two friends and go into rumble... They won't shoot at you so it's easy to farm kills And it's pretty hilarious to act like a 3 man fireteam and gang up on the other players XD Only takes an hour at most and it's a pretty entertaining hour at that. The real pain in the ass part is the final stage where you have to do the summoning pits on level 28 with the epic modifier on... Hope you have raid weapons to help with the bullet sponge majors in that.

I'm terrible at PVP, but I was quite pleased to come out of my first attempt at the Thorn bounty with 40 points towards my 500. Get yourself a Void Fusion Rifle (I have Purifier VII) and you're laughing. I thought Atheons Epilogue would work for me, but I can't seem to get kills with Auto Rifles in Crucible. I'll see how it goes from here!

I used a void shotgun and void mlg. Play 3v3 and control and U should get them fairly easy

1 ReplyI worked it with a blue fusion rifle. Use a void fusion rifle and I bet you have more luck. Also, as an added benefit you'll come out knowing how to better use a fusion rifle in the crucible. Enjoy!

1 ReplyBy no means does it take an MLG caliber player to complete the crucible portion of Thorn. I'm a very average player, I think I'm barely rocking a 1.0 KD. I completed the entire Thorn bounty in a day. Is it tough? Yes. Annoying? Yes. I can't tell you how many F-bombs I dropped while playing. You just have to change your play style. Be more defensive and let the enemy come to you. Also I would recommend playing free for all ( don't remember the proper name it ) and use a void fusion rifle if you can get your hands on one. Check the gunsmith daily. Take a deep breath man. You'll get it.
