Bungie admits that their PvP is dead. Guardians barely use the crucible. Only 15% of logged-in time is spent on PvP.

What most of us have suspected for many months has been accidentally revealed by a Bungie executive: PvP is so boring that almost no one participates in it. It's WAY less popular than grinding out bounties, or running the same strike over and over. Actually read the link before you run your mouth. *Edit: I'm just the messenger. 'Don't shoot the messenger.' For those of you who are scoring at home there are two VERY SEPARATE parts of Destiny. 1) Story. 2) PvP. The Story (PvE) dominates Guardian time at an overwhelming 85%. PvP is a paltry 15%.

17 Million. That is 17,000,000. That's about the amount of people who have played Destiny. 15% of that? That's 2,550,000. That's far from "no one" and not dead by any stretch of the imagination. Some games don't even have a 2 million player base. So I suggest taking in some context before reaching conclusions like "PvP is dead." Edit: So the pie chart indicates player time spent, not percentage of players. So let's take the 1.1billion hours and 15% that. That gives us: 165 million hours. That's a lot of time. But let's not stop there. As someone else has advised to do, let's divide that by the 17 million which gives us roughly 9 (I rounded down to be generous) hours per player. Assuming that means 9 hours total, that's not bad at all. That's a good chunk of the amount I spend gaming a week. "But so many kids left though," you say "17 million people don't play this game everyday." I believe this statement. So let's assume a good chunk of contributed 0 hours to the game, but as long as they played it, they're added to the 17 million. Since the 17 million number is the divisor, then the outcome would be a lot smaller the more you increase this number. So on average I'd say that the number would be the same if not greater because then if those people who contributed 0 hours weren't considered at all in the player base, than the outcome would be greater. TL; DR: No matter how you try to spin it, PvP is far from dead.
Destiny is far from dead, too :P
