Man....you people suck with the sword......
Jeez, I run the sword for random teams all the time with my hunter to help them out (125 or so completions). Was running my other two characters through yesterday and spend 5 frigging hours with various teams trying to get my titan and warlock past crota as a non-swordbearer (because all you noobs want hunters). I eventually gave up with the Titan as nobody would let me run it as a swordbearer and the hunters couldnt do it.....
It was kinda funny for the first hour or two - watching all you noobs fumble around up there and die but got old after that...you people need to get good....

6 RepliesProblem is now that no one will let me learn it. I was relatively late to 32 and everyone just wants an experienced sword bearer but how do you ever learn if you're not allowed to practice? Watched loads of videos so that I know the theory but clearly reality is different!

On hard I'm with you if you don't know how to use it don't f*cking volunteer On normal I'm fine with people practicing I have 3 warlocks but me and my friend Jessica switched accounts and I ran sword with her hunter and I got crota down to 1/4 health Usually with my warlocks I can only do half health So I'm making a hunter some time soon I have every exotic for it anyway

There is always some loudmouth dickhead in the game who insists he must run the sword because he is a god at it (I'm guessing that's you). I can run the sword and have killed Crota many times in both normal and hard.... but if someone else wants a shot at it, I graciously step back and try to give them some pointers. Even if we wipe 10 times on normal... I try to encourage them to keep going and assure them it's just a learning curve, they'll get it. Honestly, I wish the game randomly placed the sword in a players hand when we down the swordbearer so more people would get a chance to run it and get good with it. I love running the sword, but I also love being support... basically I enjoy the entire Raid and want to be good in all roles, not just one. There was really no need for your mean-spirited post. You are obviously one of those people who make themselves feel good by putting others down. In other words, you are probably the last person I'd ever want to Raid with. Have a nice day...

On hard mode I took a while because the swordbearer could not get put fast enough, would die on the way, would not have his blink strike on or charged, would be to late to get up to crota. No offense but it really pisses me off where I have to switch character yo be swordbearer. If it takes more than 40 minutes to kill crota then I'm switching to swordbearer. Personally sometimes when I switch I try to think positive like "Ima help these guys get what they want." Inside of me though tells me I need to find a team that has a good swordbearer so I can get the warlock helm. I know some have the same problem as well but ya know think positive. If the swordbearer is not very good with the sword, like I said before I switch and go teach while I'm running sword.

Running sword on normal can be done with any character. Same on hard, you just have to know what you're doing and have a good team. I ran sword on hard with my warlock on my first try successfully. It's not very difficult.

Sword isn't even hard when it's on normal mode. As a first time running my sword I filled crota in two swords. No ogres. It's not hard at all

I know the feeing man... I'm considering scrapping my warlock and titan and go tri-hunter just so I know I'll be able to beat crota on all 3 characters each week.

1 ReplyI have so much fun running sword and ive only used it once. I was very good at timing it on my titan. My titan is my main character and people hardly ever let me try because there like "oh you cant get 4 hits on him". I told them to just let me try and ill prove them wrong. We killed him in 2 swords because i timed it perfectly every time and it was normal so i was safe from boomers. I just kinda ran around near crota, far enough to where he cant slice me, and rught when i saw his shield bar disapeer i smashed him.

People dont understand stop using the sword in front of crota he sees you before you go invisible and smashes you most times, make sure your on his ass everytime you should never fail at using the sword

Agreed. My main is a warlock and almost every time i get to crota everyone tells me we have to have the hunter do it because he can get more hits in. Seriously so what if it takes 3 swords? I've only wiped once or twice running the sword and most hunters mess up or the game glitches so we have to do 3 anyway.

Cant help it. Didn't have a hunter till a few weeks ago. Also I had ghorn and was a warlock/titan so no one ever wanted me to give it a try. Once I get my hunter leveled up im running normal and lying to people about being good at it so I can actually practice
