So, I found a bunch of MacAddict magazines...

...in my parent's garage as we were cleaning it out. My mother wanted (and still wants) to throw them out, but I've convinced her to let me keep them. It's a pretty complete set, and I think it's a bit of cool memorabilia, especially considering that they're all in good shape (some weren't even taken out of the packaging). As I was organizing them, I noticed a large amount of Bungie coverage in them, from advertisements to a Myth II demo disk (tempted to test it). Very interesting to see how influential Bungie was on the Macintosh before the Microsoft buyout. Plus I got a Myth II poster. Just something I thought I'd share with the community. Edit: Link to Pics (Not intending to break any rules, if so please lock) Updated with additional pics. I'm assuming this is okay due to the magazine (or at least these particular issues) no longer being officially distributed/in circulation. If anyone knows different please tell me so I can adjust the uploaded material appropriate. [Edited on 06.21.2012 5:15 PM PDT]

 •
Posted by: cortana 5 No kidding! They were so fun to find.
Posted by: lime013
Posted by: cortana 5 I recognize quite a few of those advertisements. This page has larger versions of them. I miss that kind of advertising, this being my favorite.
They should start doing that again.

I didn't have a Mac, nor was I gamer around the time of Marathon and Myth, so the only old-school Bungie advertisements that I recall seeing were Oni-related. I remember seeing this ad in a number of various gaming magazines. That advertisement convinced me, a gullible seven year old, that Oni was the best game of all time and I just had to have it. I sold most of my other PS2 games and saved for two months just so I could buy it. That style of advertising was influential and had class. It's a shame that you don't see ads like that in this day and age.
