I love to grind out the ROC, but it has a couple of issues.
Namely:
No randomness. It's the exact same everytime. STALE. I love the weekly raids that have modifiers on them. Having at least one of the Vanguard raids (a new step-above ROC?) containing an element of random would freshen things up. Obviously I love burns and hate that stupid lightswitch. But if there could be a Vanguard raid that had at least *one* element of randomness to it, it would be a breath of fresh air. The burns are so much fun because they encourage different weapons. Oh, its void burn? No more ice breaker and 'horn spam and some seldom used weapons appear.
People leave. If the raid is Devil or Summoning Pits, players stay. If the raid is the flayers, Omnigul, or the Undying mind, players leave and cycle through to find a raid they want. The Archon priest seems to be a split. It would be awesome if there was some effort to keeping people in the raids. Map voting would be excellent, such as giving the fireteam a choice between two and allowing a selection.
A loot weighting would also be nice so that the extra time spent fighting the undying mind is worth it compared to crushing Septik Prime with a Black Hammer in 30 seconds. The chance for exotic engram drops from Ultras and Majors would be a nice weighting ... even if it were small chance or just a legendary drop chance. That would make it worth fighting dozens of minotaurs to get to the Undying mind as opposed to the 4 captains and 3 witches standing between me and Septik Prime.
