This is some sort of play on the different color cones in your eyes. Vote which two colors you think the dress is. Let's see how many people see which color.
A separate, official poll has shown 25% of people see blue and black and 75% of people see white and gold
Purple and gold

It could change colors depending on the amount of light

Zahdri Dust and WAAAAAGH Flesh.

So I went into photoshop and used the dropper tool on both parts of the dress. I then cleared the canvas and drew two pixels of the extracted colours. I saved the file as a .bmp and opened it with a hex editor. The hex colours in the file were: #a77658 and #8A5CE6 you may now STFU.

Edited by RJ956: 2/27/2015 11:21:13 PMThe actual dress is black and blue. That is fact. It was confirmed.

I see white and gold. But is there a gender breakdown? I'm guessing more men tend to see black and blue and more women white and gold. Why do I say that? Offtopic is overwhelmingly male, and is voting black and blue. But you're saying only 25% of people at large see blue and black. Plus, men tend to suffer color-blindness drastically more often than women.

I see blue and gold...
-
I win I can see both
-
Pink and orange.

No one cares, it's fukking ugly anyways, ugly, the color is ugly, anyways it's all gray. I'm legally colorblind.
-
People are now changing their opinions once they read that the dress is actually black and blue. I honestly see white and gold so that's my choice.
-
I saw both at different times looking at the same stored picture. Strange.
-
Blue and gold
-
The color has changed several times for me. I saw in a video for some people it changes. It was g/w then b/b then g/w now it's b/b
-
Its blue and black. There are different pictures of it making it look white and gold. You're being trolled.

It's black and blue The reason some people see black and blue or gold and white is a subtle correction our brains do to compensate for ambient lighting. It's called color consistency. Gold and White : Assumes there is a cool (bluish) light behind the dress and the dress is in shadow. This causes the brain to remove blue from the image leaving white where the blue is, and a bright gold where the goldish/brown is. Black and Blue : Assumes there is a warm (yellow) light in front of the dress and the dress is overexposed. This causes the blue to be washed out and causes the shiny black material to reflect the yellow light causing a muddy gold/brown color. It has nothing to do with mood and nothing to do with the eyes themselves.

I see blue and gold.

I see blue and black which is the actual colors of the dress. Although I can see a slight gold tint on the top black strips, I have no idea where people are getting white...
-
i see white and gold but the real dress is apparently blue and black so i am voting that I see white and gold.
