invisibility in pvp
Does anyone else use hunter invisibility in pvp to sneak around people, (you're off the radar BTW) and take them by surprise?

I only use it to stay of the radar. It is pretty easy to spot an invisible hunter. The actual invisibility isn't all that useful, it is just the perks that come along with it.

Comes in handy when the other team has B flag locked down in Firebase Delphi. Not much use after that except for a quick get away.

Its hilarious when hunters think they are totally invisible, they just run straight up to you haha killed so many hunters when they were 'sneaking' towards me

If you use Shadow Jack... Arc Blade -> Vanish -> Assassinate whole enemy team (on occasion) However, it's probably better to stick with Fleet Footed to cover that annoying "gap" faster. The gap between you and moar kills.

I think it is useless because it still gets them killed like crazy. Shift in light and background give them away.

In Destiny, I'm indifferent, I don't play as a hunter but I don't have a problem with people using it, each class has it's advantages and disadvantages. I absolutely hate it's role in Halo as an armour ability though, people would just camp all day, get a kill, get rekt when someone goes back for revenge, it was pointless. I didn't mind it as a power up in halo 3 though, that was a tactical advantage you had to make the most of.

I was kind of embarrassed last night with this hunter who made it his life goal to stay invisible the entire match running aroubd with a shotty. I was embarrassed because somehow he kept killing me because he was visually harder to see although still easy to spot its just something you dont usually look for. Still useless as its entirety in pvp but i guess it can be somewhat usefull if used tactfully like this hunter did. Also the map and placement plays a huge role on this ability aswell.

No I stopped. Because you were invisible in Halo. Outside of being on the radar you have to have a terrible tv to not see the hunter.

Occasionally. If I need a melee bounty done I'll run bladedancer and go invisible for backstab kills. It's pretty easy to see people when they're invisible though.

1 ReplyI say use it if it fits your tactics. I would dare say that the majority of the forum people here used to play different games, and prefer people to match the tactics and strategies they developed for those games. You know, games that are not Destiny, but that they want Destiny pvp to be like. Hence the constant whining and crybaby bs about grenades, melee specials, and supers. Stuff you don't find in those other games. There are some limitations to invisibility in Destiny to be aware of, but that is part of the strategy aspect. In one of the games I just finished a short while ago, some doofus started hitting and shooting me because I was holding a cave entrance against someone coming along when in their mind I should have been out running around like they were. Their strategy works for them, not me. All this complaining about campers and other stuff cones from folks who think strategy is stick together and just run from point to point. A strategy that my usual methods are the bane of and why I get so many defensive melee multi kills ( as well as my piss poor kd - but these are also people who genuinely think kd is a sign of skill, so not the sharpest tools in the shed ). Play to your strengths. One of my fave destiny friends uses invis all the time, and to great effect. His style of play works well with it. I tend more towards the watch the other team for the first three minutes and see their pattern, then run a counter. Because the goal is for the team to win, in team based events, and as I dislike pvp as a whole conceptually, I only play team based events. The individual is less important.

I'll scope in and let the gun's invisibility take effect and when that runs out I'll crouch down and let the bladedancer invisibility take over. Gives me more time invisible and, with the distance of a sniper, gives me a much lower chance of being spotted by someone just running by or jumping around.

6 RepliesBladedancers longer slide/faster run is better or the quick weapon perk is better in PVP. I use gunslinger because bladedancer super is pretty worthless.

i only go invisible when trying to cap B
