This would make him matter. As of now he is just a waste of space. Weapons reforge would be awesome for motes of light just like iron banner. Click on link some great ideas here. The idea is bot my own. I saw this on reddit and decided to share. Please bump if you like. I hope tgis happens and it has stat rolls for pvp players and separate stat rolls for pve players. Bump bump bump till bungie sees this fellas.

This would be useful for a lot of old weapons like the ones from the Queen's Wrath and the old VoG weapons.
-
Well, then we would have a lot more people with the range finder and tighter spread perks on shotguns and it would devalue found gear. As awesome as this would be, it defeats the purpose of finding legendary engrams or gear in general. A good alternative would be to be able to upgrade a rare piece of gear and combine it with a legendary giving you a unique and good looking piece of gear or to be able to simply upgrade the rare gear.

Edited by Jio: 2/25/2015 10:43:44 PMI support most of this under a few conditions: Commendations should be used to upgrade 300 weapons to 331 and to buy a weapon (the commendation by itself.) You shouldn't have to spend glimmer AND a commendation; that's a bit much. For the reforging: I'm fine with 2 motes of light, 3k glimmer (more or less) and a telemetry being used for the reforging process under one condition: we get a choice. If it's random, only 2 motes of light. Imo reforging in IB should work similarly except using 2 motes of light and more glimmer, but you get to choose your perks. Destiny already relies heavily on rng too much as it is. We don't need to rely on luck anymore if we spend currency to reforge a weapon.

Edited by Bumsai: 2/25/2015 3:10:49 PMThis is really good! That would also be good for the shipwright or eva levante! Shipwright: Buying ships and different sparrows, upgrade them and recolor them with motes of light and some materials like in the description for the gunsmith. (We need also really different sparrowtypes to buy with different stats and colours) Eva Levante: buy more colours and a way moooore banners (we need more different banner designs), sell surplus shaders and buy some rare (mabe with lottery) shaders and banners with motes of light.

Edited by pablogordon: 2/26/2015 11:17:43 PMThis game is most often and fairly criticized for lack of content, by allowing the gunsmith and other vendors to upgrade any and all of the items that already exist in the game would effectively add content. We could all be a little more unique and finally a use for all these commendations and materials littering my vault and characters! Win/win/win

Yes, no question for glimmer and some notes of light, yes definately

Upgrades for the kvostov too!

Edited by Jangalang: 2/26/2015 10:52:41 AMI still say they should add a system of mods that the gunsmith installs for you. It could be for stat changes, special sights or even changing the element the gun uses. Since Bungie likes grinding. Make us grind out parts to build inserts to change the elements of the guns. So it's not overpowered, you can only change them out in the tower by the gunsmith. No changing mid mission or in raids.

No. No no no no no. Rerolling will only bring in exploited weapon rolls that will ruin pvp

That would be awesome! But is Bungie hearing? That's the problem.

Edited by CynicalDeathbat: 2/25/2015 10:11:18 PMI support this. I never was able to get TDYK and TDYD can't really compare. Plus this makes the gunsmith do what gunsmith's are supposed to do; offer ok to decent weapons for all levels and upgrade ones you already own. I had an idea once that he should repair our guns, like Bungie make them actually break after prolonged use and need repair or just need cleaning or basic maintenance. I mean c'mon, with all the shit we put these guns through, surely they'll eventually need some fixing right? I'm thinking along the lines of some sort of meter that builds up the longer you use the weapon. Then once the meter is full, either you can't use it or it's damage is reduced to roughly half until you take it to the gunsmith for repairs. EDIT: Also, maybe a firing range to test weapons we buy just to see how they fire? Something similar to what COD:AW has for in between pvp matches. Like maybe they can put one in in the events area of the tower about where the Iron banner guy always is.
