Inventory Gap between Raiders & Non-Raiders is UNREASONABLE

If I speak to people that have been doing the raids for the majority of the time, they speak about hundreds of shards and energy. Not to mention their reaching Level 32 earlier and having weapons generally superior to counterparts in the Iron Banner, or via crucible drops. Its an unreasonable im-balance in player performance/acquisitions. I think Destiny would do well to either: (1) close the gap by greatly increasing the rewards for playing in crucible; or (2) just straight out announce that destiny is a Raiding & Nightfalling game and the Crucible is just an ancillary activity, so if players prefer the crucible, they should look to another game developer. EDIT: The reasons for Raiding or not-raiding are inconsequential.

  • This game has an interesting paradox. PvE has the most ways to gain equipment and is the reason why most people seem to play it, yet crucible gets all the attention when it comes to game changes and game design.

Lfg.net and lfg.com and #recruitment. I used to only raid with a couple friends ... I find that eu ppl are -blam!-ing retarded raiders across the board. You can put your own group together otherwise.. I still say we need matchmaking for the nightfalls and raids. All of my mentioned ways to group are still random people. There's no reason for you to not raid... Its perfectly accessible outside the game or you can douche it and just party invite everyone in the tower. If your not going to do ce you don't need 32.... You can get 31 just doing strikes dailys and buying vanguard gear and wearing an exotic. Xur sells them.

Lvl 32 gear only matters for Crota's End Hard mode raid. Why? Because, Lvl 30 nightfall Lvl 30 heroic Lvl 26 strike playlist Lvl 24 strike playlist Lvl 20 strike playlist Lvl 18 strike playlist Lvl 26 VOG normal Lvl 30 VOG hard Lvl 30 Crota End normal Lvl 33 Crota end hard Also, attack damage you can do is capped. Being a 32 in a lvl 30 mission gives you no advantage except for 1) bonus oracle damage when using a weapon with oracle disrupter, 2) having +100 more defense than a 31, which reduces every hit taken by 3%. And, vanguard gear alone allows you to get to lvl 31. I'm a 32 and I play more as a 30 or 31 because the gear is better for how I play.

Really it's stupid that all the legendary gear isn't +36 light. All legendary and exotic weapons cap at 331 so armor should all have same cap too. I don't care if some elitist raid honkey is going to complain. Needs variety. I want to be able to do any activity in any of my hard earned gear. I can't stand these dorks who only wear their level 32 raid gear and glowhoo everyday once they get it. It's starting to smell.

Crucible is an afterthought, nothing more and nothing less. This game was built with PvE activities in mind, and literally states that raiding is the final endgame activity. Therefore it is only logical that the best gear comes from raiding and not PvP. There is no counter-argument or side thought that changes this notion. If you don't like it, don't play, it's that simple because it will not be changing. Edit: To everyone using the argument of "PvP Minded Nerfs", mind you, this is only because you never see PvE players calling for any nerfs. The biggest weapon balance patch in the game so far has come from PvE players, and that was the exotic buff, so get over your line of thought on that notion too.

              • Crucible requires no skill. Just go 0 and 20 for icebreaker or suros. If you play crucible all day, don't whine about not having PVE drops.

              • Also if you bought this game for crucible.....thats funny. I believe most people bought it for the co op. If your into that crucible crapp, play cod. Much much better online tdm style shooter. This pvp is horrible. Have you ever played another pvp? If so you must be high to think this game pvp is good.

              • If you dont raid then you dont need lv 32. Whats the big deal. If you could get to 32 without raids, nobody would do them. I respect you dont raid, but its truely the only challenging thing to do in this game. Shouldnt those doing the hardest things in the game get rewarded? Thats like saying ROC strikes should drop nightfall rewards.

Pvp Players don't Need to be level 32, the level doesnt matter. The most people play With Blue weapons or exotics. No need for RAID weapons. And the Main Part of the Game is PVE, not PVP

                • Okay bud, the Crucible is merely a side activity for players to combat other players, just like any other PvP mode in a gear grinding game. You get better gear for playing the core mode which is PvE, and Raid gear stays Raid only because it is the hardest part of the game. The best crucible players do both PvE and PvP so if you want to match them you do the same. This isn't CoD, you can't just skip the story content and go straight to PvP and get rewarded for doing nothing (okay some do but lemme get to that). Now I do play crucible and I've noticed the really bad drop rates and how unfairly loot is awarded, some people just afk and get exotics which isn't okay. Players with a higher score should definitely be awarded, or players that reach a certain score in the game. Some sort of reward system should be there though

Why can't we be level 32 wahhhh. Seriously stfu I get pve players bitch about having to do pvp for exotic bounties but they can shut up to. I hate pvp in this game but I tolerate it to get the exotic bounties done. Do the raid if you want to get to level 32. Shit who knows maybe you'll end up like it.

                  • You can reach 32 with just doing the normal raid enough times. You can get 30-31 armor from the vendors. No reason not to reach 32 honestly. The raid WEAPONS (primaries) are a different matter though haha. For some it might not be worth the trouble. For others it is. And if you get a good group to run the raid with you end up having a good time regardless so that's cool.

                  • It is not imbalanced. Raids are the HARDEST part of the game and as such the rewards are going to be the highest tier and the quickest to get. You can still get this tier gear from iron banner, and the weapons can be rerolled so that their perks are actually much better than crotas end weapons (minus the lack of burn for nightfalls). Exotic weapons and armor can be found either way you choose to play the game. If they need to do anything, it is to increase drop rates in the crucible for the top 3 players on the winning team by 6x, 4x, and 2x respectively so that good players can get good loot faster and it promotes competition and skill. In addition, they should make VOG gear relevent again so that you have the choice of IB, VOG, or Crota to get 32 gear and 331 weapons and choose those that suit your situation best.

                    • I'm a PvE player almost exclusively, but played PvP with a group in Iron Banner. Six man team, we were. Everybody but me played Iron Banner to get to level 32, saying how easy it was to do in only a few days. So, I think PvP (at least in IB) has advantages rather than disadvantages. Regarding the weapons, the CE raid weapons aren't that great, as you'll see by reading the forum posts. Most CE weapons have better Vanguard equivalents available for purchase and that's probably true for Crucible stuff as well.

                      • Unless you're playing in the Iron Banner, your level, gear, and weapons have zero effect on you in the Crucible... The game is designed for you to play both PvE AND PvP in order to get the full experience.....It's not Bungies fault if you choose to only play one aspect of the game, and nor should they tweak the game to cater to one side or the other. If you want the Exotic weapons from the Bounties, or Armor/Weapons from the Iron Banner and you are a PvEr, then you have to play the Crucible... If you want to hit level 32, and obtain Weapons and Armor from the Raid and you're a PvPer, then you have to do the raid... The Crucible is just a "Game mode" in Destiny.....It is not the Core Aspect of the game....

I have mixed feelings about this, so this will probably jump around a little, but here are my thoughts on this: 1. There should be a way (even if it's only through events like Iron Banner) to hit 32 if you are a strictly PVP player. 2. In general, I love the Iron Banner weapons. I don't enjoy PVP, at this point I only play regular crucible for Exotic Bounties. Since DB came out, I've hit rank 5 in all the Iron Banner's because I wanted Efrideet's Spear, Timur's Lash, Radegast's Fury and Gheleon's Demise (my favorite legendary primary in the game). I think all of these weapons are fantastic and a large part of that is that with enough motes of light you can essentially guarantee good perks. Re-rolling is, to me, one of the most valuable things in the game. 3. With a few notable exceptions (Vex and Fatebringer) the advantages that raid weapons offer really don't matter to a PVP focused player. The main reason I like the primaries is that they have elemental damage (doesn't matter in the crucible) or the White Nail perk on Black Hammer (to me it seems nearly impossible to activate that while playing crucible, and special ammo is hardly even an issue anyway). 4. Crucible drops should be increased (including better ways to get ascendant material in the crucible) but only if there is some sort of ranked/level based play. Raids and Nightfall strikes are much more difficult than playing a standard crucible match (or even just grinding out five crucible matches). Even the strike playlists don't guarantee an engram unless you do them on the highest level. It would be nice if Bungie offered ranked playlists. In order to get guaranteed engrams you would have to play on the highest ranked level and win. The ranking system could be based on stats (to prevent AFKers from getting to the highest levels if they get lucky and their team keeps winning). Winning at the highest rank, would guarantee at least a blue engram with an increased chance for legendary/exotic. They could also include ascendant mats so people who only PVP would have a better chance to level up their legendary gear. The lower ranking playlists would see decreased odds and get more of the non-engram blue gear though there would still be a chance to pull an engram now and then. To me, this is the best way to make for more balanced drops while still ensuring that you need to be skilled (like you would have to be to complete a raid without a team of friends carrying you). tl;dr I agree with you on the low drop rates but think that they would need to make some changes to crucible before just increasing drop rates across the board. In general, I don't think the raid weapons (with a few notable exceptions) have much, if any, advantage over other legendries in PVP

                          • Of course the crucible is ancillary. If you really want to play competitive pvp, pick up the new CoD. I don't raid, but I understand that the whole point of getting better gear to reach the level cap is to make completing the raid easier. Your problem with a lack of materials can be somewhat mitigated by doing the daily heroic quest everyday. Other than that, find a few people on destinylfg.com and run the first couple parts of VoG.
