DESTINY and MARATHON
So I was looking about on the interwebs and found bungies old game, Marathon.
I thought it was interesting and researched further.
Marathon and Destiny are quite similar.
Now you could say it's similar to all their games including Halo, that's probably because it pioneered Bungies style; but it particularly seemed similar to Destiny in my opinion.
The way the enemies are structured eg, dregs, vandals, captains, is similar. But once again so is Halo.
I just wanted to share this and also say that if you look into it yourself I'm sure you'll see things that you'll think are similar.
Tell me what to find/think.

1 ReplyI also find the storytelling to be similar in Destiny - though not as detailed, since it isn't told through long text entries. There's something about how Destiny withholds so much of the story to maintain a sense of mystery and drops just enough clues to imply a long, detailed history that makes me feel some nostalgia for Marathon. To me, Halo always felt more similar to PiD's storytelling, in that it was mostly self-contained and focused on the main plot - not a lot of tangential details.
