NMS (No Man's Sky) is a roguelike sci-fi survival exploration game in an 'infinite' procedurally generated universe of over 18 quintillion planets. To put that into perspective, it'd take 585 billion years to visit every planet if you visited a new one every second. Everything in NMS is procedurally generated by fractal algorithms that produce an endless variety. NMS will release on the PS4 & PC (Steam) at the same time, it might release on Xbox One a few months later. This group is dedicated to covering everything about NMS. Anyone is welcome. Things revealed from this video:
You can set waypoints to mark your favorite planets.
NMS might have space whales, if so you might be able to ride them.
Not every solar system will have AI space ships, you can sometimes be totally alone within a solar system, with nothing to fight.
You can't lock yourself into orbit around a planet.
Some planets will have rings.
The devs making NMS are talking about xenoarchaeology (the study of material remains to reconstruct and interpret past life-ways of alien civilizations).
Some worlds will be completely composed of liquid or sand.
You shouldn't be able to get in situations where you have to kill yourself because you're stuck, you have a jetpack & a laser, so you should be able to escape.
Meat eating plants will be in NMS.
You cannot build bases or anything else in NMS, however if NMS is a success Sean will add building and other features later.
