This is how I visualize Destiny in 10 years.

This post is only meant to drag you away from the constant "nerf this", "Xur sucks", and "give me gjallarhorn" type posts. Happy reading, Guardians. This is pretty much what I want Destiny to be in 10 years, not necessarily what I think is going to happen. You open your map from orbit to go the tower. Instead of the 4 original planets, there's 16+. You can travel to and do raids/strikes/story missions/patrol on Jupiter (or Jupiters' moons for all the scientists that don't want to inhabit a gas giant in A VIDEO GAME), Mercury, Pluto, The Reef, and the Darkness beyond it. You can now also warp to different galaxies as there are far more dangerous enemies out there to face. There are over 200 different exotic armor pieces and over 150 different exotic weapons to choose from. In addition to Xur, 5 more agents of the Nine have made their way to the tower. They're all distinct vendors, because now there are different tiers of items between legendaries and exotics. Maybe even a tier or two higher than Exotics? There are over 25 different random events occurring at random times (Iron Banner, Queens Wrath, etc.). It just happens and you get a notification upon entering orbit for the first time that day (no notice in weekly updates). You are no longer limited to choosing between 3 races when creating a character; there are over 15 races to choose from and loads of classes/subclasses. In-depth character customization. Every planet has different plants and wildlife. Explore the open world and come across towns and villages inhabited by NPCs who act as quest givers. Planets also have dynamic weather environments, such as hurricanes and thunderstorms on Venus, blizzards on earth, etc. There was no Destiny 2, or 3, or 4. They chose to abandon the plan of confirmed and scheduled sequels and instead focused on massive DLCs for one title only. Destiny. Over 10 years they've added and added and assembled the most colossal video game ever made. I think this is something along the lines of what Bungie wants to do, I hope. They have invested a lot of money and 10 years of their time/career into this series, I believe they have some tricks up their sleeve. I have faith in them. 5 months out of 10 years is barely scratching the surface, so let's not give up on them so quickly. Edit: I want to elaborate on the dynamic weather feature. Let's say you're patrolling earth and you get caught in a blizzard; you won't be able to sprint like you usually can. The heavy, icy winds will definitely slow you down and obscure your vision. When you're caught in a thunderstorm or hurricane on Venus, your aim will sway, same for the enemies. Drop rates are higher during public events. If you can take out a level 45 fallen walker in a blizzard, an exotic drop should be a suitable reward. All planets will be inhabited by different animals and plants. Instead of worrying about just aliens, when you're in the wilds of planet earth you can be attacked by a massive lion in the mountains or a bear in the forests. Destiny lore already mentions dragons (Ahamkara armor pieces), would it be too far-fetched for them to return? Can I gjallarhorn a dragon? Edit 2: How did I not include this from the start, BETTER/MORE story! They should also have lore included in-game, I can pick up a book in the tower and start reading about Toland (like in skyrim). Edit 3: We need civilians to protect. We don't wanna fight for just the speaker or the traveler, we want to fight for the remaining citizens of planet earth. When I come back from doing a mission, I want to see the city below the tower cheering. I want to actually go to the city! Edit 4: PVP! We have real matchmaking and private lobbies now. There are so many different game modes to choose from. Create or enter an existing lobby by picking your match type, set your rules (no shotguns, sniper rifles and melee only, etc.), invite friends or start matchmaking. It matches you with the people looking to play the same game mode/rules as you. You can also go into rumble with a 6 man fireteam and slaughter your own clanmates in friendly competition (bounties disabled to prevent exploits). A new match type called Warfare allows a 20 vs 20 battle royale, while another match type lets you equip exotics in all 3 weapon slots. Vault space: You know how you can hover your cursor over your friends list and hit R2 to scroll pages? They've updated the vault to include this feature. Hover your cursor over the Armor section of the vault, hit R2, and you'll start scrolling through "pages" of armor. Edit 5: Idea for new enemies. They should be a product of their planet. For example, a fiery planet will be home to a species of flaming, gigantic titans. Using solar damage against this enemy makes them stronger, so you can finally put away that gjallarhorn. This would create an opportunity for new elemental damages to be introduced. This idea could be tweaked up and it could work pretty well. Edit 6: THE FOLLOWING IS NOT WHAT I THINK IS ACTUALLY HAPPENING. IT IS ONLY AN EXTENSION TO MY DREAM OF A PERFECT DESTINY. I KNOW THAT THERE IS A CONFIRMED DESTINY 2 AND THAT CHARACTER PROGRESSION IS CARRYING OVER. THE FOLLOWING IS JUST A COUNTER-PROPOSAL TO MY ORIGINAL IDEA OF DESTINY BEING A ONE TITLE GAME FOREVER. I hope this clears things up. A lot of people have suggested that this would cost entirely too much. Keeping one game and adding ton of DLC would take a lot out of our pockets. So here's another idea: They do make sequels and character progression carries forward onto these future games (just like what is actually happening in real life). But instead of making an entirely new game, they take the existing features of the previous game and expand on every aspect of it. It could be done in, let's say, 4 games. $60 for 4 games would be $240 you've paid after purchasing the last game. $240 for ten years is not so bad, I've probably spent more than that buying the new madden that comes out every year. Edit 7: House of Wolves is one MASSIVE step in the right direction. Props, Bungie. See, I told you guys not to lose hope just yet. They'll end off year one on a pretty solid note. Now that they know what we want, hopefully it'll only get better from here. Edit 8: Bungie also stopped supporting last-gen systems. PS4/Xbox One/PC or higher! If you like these ideas, bump! Let's get Bungie to see this TL;DR: Destiny could be perfection. #TruePotentialOfDestiny
