*Continued from above.* --- The Prison of Elders. Third Floor. Lock wound up his kick and sent his heel through the door marked “Ether”. The metal was torn from it’s hinges and tumbled into the dark. It landed against a shelf holding the precious capsules, knocking most of them to the ground. He stepped inside and looked around. This bank was one of the smaller ones in the prison, more of a stop along the way for the ether and its trip from the tip into the bellies of the Fallen. All ether was drained from their Prime Servitor and sent to the lowest floor where most of the Fallen inmates resided. Not surprisingly, none of the banks on this floor had been looted thanks in part to the fact that the Queen liked to keep the Fallen population separated from her more ruthless prisoners. Sky would have more than enough for Vahn and herself. ”Grab all the ether capsules you can carry, we’re probably not going to find another bank and regardless, we don’t have the time t- shit…” The prison shook and more loose capsules clattered to the floor. The tremors were steadily getting worse and not just because the four of them were much closer to the impact site. Lock was worried that the rest of Cypher’s floor had already been turned into shrapnel. They’d been lucky enough to avoid any depressurized areas of the prison but judging by how events were unfolding, he knew their luck would run out eventually. They had to be careful what doors they ventured through from here on out… but they also had to hurry. The Queen and her reinforcements would be all over the prison soon. ”Hurry…” Sky placed Vahn gingerly against a wall and gathered a handful of the cylinders rolling around on the ground. Grabbing a mask off another shelf, she fixed it to Vahn’s face and pressed capsules into every junction available. Six of them hissed gas, pushing the life force of the Fallen back into the broken body of the Captain. His chest began to rise with a steady beat and Sky visibly relaxed. ”[It’ll take time but he should recover soon. The wounds will start to close up and his ether replenish shortly.]” ”Right. Well let’s keep moving.” Sky nodded and Lock joined her opposite Vahn, assisting the Captain in carrying the massive Fallen. With a pair of arms draped over both of their shoulders, they hoisted Vahn up and carried him through the door. Randar was waiting outside. ”What’s the word?” Randar nodded. ”The… the armory… it’s cleaned out.” ”Perfect…” Lock and Sky continued moving forward while Randar gave his report. Lock had sent him to do a little scouting both for convenience of time and to help get things off the man’s mind. He was clearly shaken up. And as for Randar running into guards… Lock wasn’t worried. The human had somehow managed to survive the chamber without doing much of anything. Randar continued. ”And… no Cypher… s-sorry…” ...No Cypher… Lock didn’t really know the man all that well. What he did know was that Cypher had a history… a history unfettered by those around him. He’d made his own choices in life, which was more than what most people could say these days. Everyone was either holding someone elses flag… or dying to another. Guardians, their light speckling the inner system were simply zombies brought back from the dead. They spoke for the speaker… who spoke for the traveler. Only their words were bullets and their books were the guns at their side. Cypher had found his own path. He was natural born and his actions were of his own. He landed himself in the Prison of Elders because he had no one to answer to and so he answered for anyone… and his answer was death. Lock initially tried to avoid the man but there was use in someone who would do nearly anything for the glint of glimmer. The man had weaseled his way into the escape plan and Lock didn’t resist. Only now… he was as good as dead. His entire floor had been shattered from the Fallen Ketch. Every hall the group entered was littered with doors sealed shut to keep the vacuum of space out. Tremors told of the death that awaited them outside walls only a few inches thick. One piece of debri could end the ride for them all… or most of them. Exo’s didn’t need pressurized space. Cypher did. Chances were… he’d tumbled into the eternal black the moment the Fallen began their attack. At least now he was free. Randar interrupted Lock’s thoughts, voicing a surprising concern. ”There was…. is… someone.” Lock stopped walking and turned to look at Randar with a confused look. ”What?...Who? A guard?” ”No…” Randar paused. It added effect even if he didn’t know it. ”A girl…” ”Who?” ”Sophia.” Continued in Chapter Eight or The Prisoner of Light

 • Great work. Keep doing what your doing. Besides the occasional grammatical error, you're writing flows very well. And you've also mastered one of the most needed skills if any writer: cliffhangers. It's a love hate relationship with them... Keep up the good work though!

 • Yeah. I've learned when and where to put them to keep readers engaged. Kind of a skill you pick up when you do a lot of play-by-post roleplaying. You only get to deliver a paragraph worth of material, the trick is to get them to want to read the next paragraph when there isn't a whole lot of substance in the previous one. And thanks as always Photon.
