My suggestions:
1. Bring back Materials for Marks swap since it wasn't broken in the first place.
2. Give the QM's the ability to swap 20 VM's for 20 CM's (and back) at the expense of 1K glimmer. Similar to how you have to pay Eris in Glimmer and BWI's if you want to convert Radiant materials from one form to another.
3. Make it a 2:1 swap (as mentioned by someone else).
3. Let Factions take VMs or CMs in exchange for items.

I would also like to see some other use for armor parts. I have over 800 sapphire wire that is usless to me now. I know other players probably have thousands. Maybe exchange them for something else.

1. No, The we wont be able to buy Mats from Vendors.. Since spending marks gets you Mats so you will earn REP way too quick.. and how do you have so many MATS now since who does mindless MAT farming now...? i usually buy them as i need them.

What else is there to do to kill time while you are waiting to thump the Blade of Crota, public events or completing patrols? Buying mats with marks was a stupid idea.

Edited by IrishTheSavage: 1/26/2015 8:09:02 PMglimmer runs i do Exclusions zone get like 10k in 20-30 mins, Buying Mats was definitely not a bad idea.. you don't even know how many people loved that.. i used to BUY vanguard and crucible gear just to dismantle it.. because i was at the 200 cap all the time.. i don't do public events anymore ( unless they randomly happen when I'm doing a Strike) and i don't do Patrols I only do simple vanguard Bounties Like kill 100 without dying kill 100 precision since i do those in Vanguard Roc strikes. and if i need to do the Blade of Crota i just run the first mission of dark below 3 times usually do a lot of Eris bounties on that Mission lol i don't even remember the last time I opened up a chest To be honest.. believe me i been playing since September and hell no i don't miss running in circles for an hour opening chest .. leveling up my gun felt worst than washing dishes.. now its just go buy some lol..

Marks for Mats was dumb because most players will always have a steady supply of mats on mains and alts at anytime. There is no reason to buy mats with marks. We should all have stacks and stacks of the stuff. Removing Mats for Marks only served to screw over PvE players that were earning Faction rank without going into the Crucible, which was a practice that wasn't hurting anyone. Funny that you should shards / energy because if Bungie really wanted to do something awesome for players, they'd let us buy AM's with marks or exchange one kind of AM for the other just as you can convert RM's with Eris at the cost of glimmer and BWI's. Notice that this did not happen. There are some things that we are doomed to grind for and that is by design.

[/quote] it still takes time to make marks, 5-10 minute strikes 6 marks, 5-10 minute Crucible matches for 3 marks/ 2 if you lose.. and i was never full of materials i would have to go find a route to farm for materials every time i found a cool gun.. it was a chore. my most hated thing to do in this game.. now i just do strikes for rep and get marks same with crucible. ide rather Lone wolf 3-4 crucible matches or 2 strikes than to open up 10-20 chest. and mindless farming.

I still open chests while I'm doing bounties. I have stacks of the stuff.

Knock out a Kill Order while on patrol on the moon by killing Hive and you've put work in a Vanguard Bounty and one of Eris's bounty at the same time.

the only bounties i never do are the patrol missions.. i do all the other ones during strikes or when there is a bounty to kill a certain person ill go kill him as quick as possible and if can knock out another bounty while I'm there i will ..

Yeah I think the rep would need to be removed. Mats into marks was handy for me because I could be grinding chests on Vita remote play whilst watching TV. :)

Yep I agree. But the only faction you can't level without pvp is crucible now. I could live with that if they brought the exchange back without rep.

But Faction reps only take CM's as currency.. Even if you level up faction with Vanguard Bounties, you can't buy any of their items without PvP. Factions should either take VM's as currency or the Mats for Marks exchange should be brought back.

Yeah I'm agreeing with you. They should never have removed it imo. I'm just saying the 25 rep you used to get would have to go because if mat to marks and marks to mats were both available people could keep swapping back and forth for rep gains. In this situation - with [b]both[/b] systems available with no rep gain - then crucible rep would be the only thing unavailable without pvp. Which I could live with. You could still level factions by using their class item in pve and get the marks you needed from materials. This would be win win. The only thing better would be combining all marks into one currency :)
