I know I have seen a thread discussing this but can't find anything under search.
Seems that Another NITC, rapier and B Line with the right perks would all be better.... I don't get it.
Edit: it sounds like as long as you have firefly as a perk you should be good. And VoC is really only good for solar burn nightfall and oracles.
Edit 2: the more this discussion goes on the more that it seems the elemental damage is the biggest factor. And to those saying that 331 only matters to mobs over level 30. This is a hotly debated subject.

2 RepliesNightfalls with burn and the vog because of the oracle disruptor. Once the crota primaries drop the vog weapons will only be good for vog
-
WoC does exactly 10 damage more then FB (according to a reddit post) so its not worth getting rid of my FBs. VoC is fantastic because it has full auto
-
Edited by Tomato Gravy: 2/24/2015 2:22:18 AMI use my fatebringer all the time......it just feels right...it still does max damage to enemys up to level 30. I still use it all the time despite having 3 other arc primaries at 331 Use word of crota in hm raid tho..... I like voc, but dont really use it much anymore.....fang of ir yut(scout), and abyss defiant(solar primary) have all but replaced it for me.

2 RepliesIf you gotta ask, you do not have the weapons
-
1 ReplyIf it wasn't for elemental damage then I wouldn't use either anymore. I don't use either unless it's a nightfall with that weapons burn or doing the vault of glass. Rapier is my new go to primary now.
-
are you kidding Fatebringer still rocks! perfect weapon in this weeks Nighfall and super weapon in the maze section of Crota raid,. One shot can take a mob of thrall easily!
-
They are still good because there is only one activity in the game that goes over level 30 (Crota's End). Everything else is still level 30 max. Sure, 331 is better against everything than 300 is, but the Fatebringer is a good enough gun that it's still worth using. Unless you're extremely lucky and RNG another legendary hand cannon with similar perks (Namely Firefly and Outlaw), it's almost always going to be better in PvE, and that's not even bringing the Arc damage into the equation.
-
Meh. My 300 attack Venation III and my VoC are my go to primaries in raids. They might not deal out as much total damage compared to their 331 attack counterparts, but they do me just fine.
-
It's the elemental damage. Without it, I probably wouldn't use either weapon anymore. It's just convenient to not have to always switch to a special weapon to take out shields.
-
Edited by Kemmin: 1/16/2015 7:16:39 PMAddressing edit 2: Yes, 331 damage only matters against enemies over level 30. Take a sub 300 damage gun and then take the same gun at over 300 hundred damage and shoot the same enemy... Say a level 24 dreg. Same damage done. The new weapons only see use of their increased firepower in Crota's end right now. Old weapons are still just as effective for everything else.
-
3 RepliesBurn damage makes them better. Fatebringer with the burn damage and the perks it has is the most complete hand cannon in the game.
-
They are still both solid weapons. I generally have one or the other equipped.
-
Fatebringer > everything
-
Elemental damage. What will replace VOG raid primaries are CE raid primaries.
-
6 Replies300 attack wpns do the same damge as 331 wpns bro bungie is -blam!-ing with you
-
Perks+Stats+Elemental Burn Primary=Invaluable. Plus the being level 331 attack only makes a huge difference on higher level shit like the crota raid, 300 weapons work just fine in the nightfall, weekly, VoG, daily, and especially Roc strikes.
-
VoC is also great for Deathsinger wizards, just throwin' that out there :3
-
I almost wish they had another full auto scout rifle although I don't mind pulling the trigger it was just unique.
-
2 RepliesBecause encountering enemies over level 30 isn't very common unless you're doing crotas end.
-
5 RepliesEdited by HarryHavana: 1/16/2015 7:12:25 PMLike has been already mentioned, unless you are coming up against enemies higher than level 30, the new guns don't hit any harder. EDIT. This is wrong.
-
The vision has the power of the scout rifle and u can fire it full auto. Plus oracle and fire. I have 3 and I don't use anything else unless I'm trying to get more grimour or nightfall
-
2 RepliesEdited by ThisMahSwamp: 1/16/2015 6:44:27 PMYou have to understand the damage figures of the guns. 300 damage is capped damage for level 30 enemies. 331 damage is capped damage for level 33 enemies. 323 damage (Vex) is capped damage for level 32 enemies. The vast majority of content in the game caps at level 30 (Nightfalls, etc.) which is why these guns are still relevant. Once Hard mode CE drops, that is when the 331 will shine.

5 RepliesEdited by EneMy ISI: 1/16/2015 9:41:04 PMVoC for stability, clip size, reload rate and auto fire. Fate bringer because it is a stacked cannon with modifiers that most dont even have on their roll tables. In my opinion fate should be an exotic
-
Edited by alex09628: 1/16/2015 6:49:28 PMI have a fully maxed Suros 2.0 and a Vision of Confluence and I gotta say, I definitely prefer Vision. It's an amazing gun, and the oracle disruptor and the solar damage are a nice perk. Dunno, maybe it's more of a personal preference thing.
-
2 RepliesWell they are both elemental damage so they are already better than every other primary gun for nightfalls
-
I have a rapier with luck in the chamber, firefly and explosive rounds, I know i shouldn't compare it with my Fatebringer but the only I see a huge difference that makes me want to use the rapier is when I play CE and I use my lvl 32 warlock, outside of that I go with Fatebringer P.S if I had VOC I could make a better comparison outside of CE
