See, they absolutely screwed themselves by throwing time-travel in there. The vex can travel through time and we cannot. If our enemies have time-traveling abilities it would make sense that we would never have existed. The vex exist, have existed, will exist, forever and ever, the end. That's quite the knot to untie.
