Opinion on console wars
What's your opinion on console wars? Do you think they help gaming or hurt it?

3 RepliesDefending an inanimate object made by a company who doesn't give two shits about your opinion (just as long as they have your wallet) is a pretty pathetic thing to do. By all means, compliment and criticise when necessary, but to act like a raging fanboy and shit on another piece of technology because of the logo on it is downright retarded. It's just as bad as brain-dead teens who only buy a hat or shirt because of a tick or a crocodile on it. As far as "console wars" go, as long as they have our money, they all win. They don't care if Brad from Wisconsin thinks the Wii U is better, nor do they care is Sally from Spain says that the PS4 is the best. If you enjoy playing video games on the platform you're playing them on, then good for you. Don't -blam!-ing tell anyone else how to enjoy their games.

First, this should be in gaming. Second, the competition between two or more companies ultimately benefits the consumer. However; talking heads on the Internet have effectively made it so console choice is similar to political party affiliation which in turn just make most conversations about the topic evolve into a contest of mud slinging. Effectively: market competition good, people causing divides among the consumer base/gaming communities to the point of both sides acting stupid bad.
