The Darkness//The Traveler

So we all now about the Destiny lore about theories on The Traveler and The Darkness... Anyway, I was just hoping to start a conversation about whether they're good or bad, and other people's theories. I was looking up stuff and even in The Grimoire, there are suspicions of The Darkness being evil. If you go to the Grimoire Card on The Darkness and read it, you will find info on different charcters of Destiny having their opinions on The Traveler and The Darkness. E.G.

The Acataleptic Clause claims that we are intrinsically unable to understand the Darkness... this belief parallels the Praxic Creed, which suggests that we should stop worrying about the nature of the Darkness and focus on resisting and defeating it

. And my favourite quote, written by the Grimoire authors themselves...

Certain positions - often labeled heretical - imply that the Traveler itself triggered the Collapse, or that it knew the Darkness was coming for it and hoped to use the Solar System as a sacrifice or a proxy army. The Binary Star cult is one notable example

. Upon looking into the Binary star Cult, I didn't get much information, seeing as the top results were Destiny groups called "Binary star Cult" Thought and Theories??

 • I don't think we have enough information to do anything but wildly speculate about what the Darkness is However I think the Traveller is most likely some piece of advanced tech made by an ancient alien civilisation, which they sent out to terraform worlds for them which they could later settle/colonise. It just so happens it came to our solar system and we were already here. Then these other aliens arrived too. Could be that original builders of the Traveller are long dead (defeated by The Darkness perhaps… or else the same civilisation that created the Traveller also unleashed the Darkness). Actually here's a new theory: There was once an incredibly advanced civilisation similar to the Forerunners/Precursors in Halo. They had a civil war about the fate of the universe. One side ('the Light') believed in peacefully spreading throughout space, and ensuring that life flourishes forever (maybe eventually building tech advanced enough to resist the collapse of the universe). The other side (the Darkness) believed that the universe must die (literally consumed by darkness) and no one should interfere. The Light created Travellers and sent them out to terraform distant worlds so that life could flourish. The Darkness created the Hive, a Flood-like plague that would spread everywhere and destroy all life it encountered. What's happening in our Solar system has happened in countless others (eg. probably in the home of The Fallen). The only difference is here we have a 3rd player: the Vex.
