I just saw a post were a guy was rampaging saying pve players suck they can only kill ai blah blah blah... i checked his stats in pvp and mine destroy his by far. Just cause we prefer pve over pvp doesnt make us bad..
Edit:
So alot of people are saying pve players have no gun skill. Suck at aiming blah blah... you have my gamertag.. rumble is a invite away. We can always test that. But it will be uploaded to this post.
Just because you play pvp doesnt mean you are overall a better player. Yes you have more pvp experience but that doesnt mean your better at the game.. or better at pvp in fact..
Edit:
To people saying i rarely play crucible.. hunter is my main. Relook
Edit:
Another point. My orginal clan i made was meant for both pve and pvp because i play both but prefer pve. And when i tried to get people in they instantly say i dont play with pve scrubs.. umm then why did i just beat you??
Im still trying to make this clan work with both across platforms. If anyone wants in let me know!!

Edited by Rei Shepard: 9/24/2018 10:43:27 AMPve mainly people do not have the developed awareness that you mostly need in pvp, in pve it wont kill you if you react 0.3 seconds too slow, while in pvp 0.3 seconds is the diffrence between getting shotgunned or shotgunning your opponent in the face first. I dont play much pve, but I almost always like 99% top the leaderboard in pvp and when I do pve, its the same deal, most kills, most precision kills, I dont die etc while some of my pve friends do well in pve they cant deal well in pvp, also pve gets stale at some point as I cant see myself bring out the motivation todo the same raid 20 times, especially not with the cocky pve players who done the raid 100 times already and brag brag brag about how they shaved of 12 seconds on their last run. Then when you end up doing some pvp with them, they fold like a wet paper blanket and all they got on their end is lag lag and more lag that day. I mean, as a pvp player, I solod most of the raids in D1 that were soloble, but people would still criticise how I played in a team, while I didnt even need the other 5. I dunno, I think both sides of the coin have the same type of braggers on their side. ps: Ive not played a single raid in D2, just because of how obnoxious superior pve players feel about themselves, just because they have more Light then you.
-
I dunno, I play both pvp and pve and I'm better than most players, but I still get a team where I carry them, it's annoying to see no one helps me out. Then again against sweats or in a sweaty team I wouldnt be much of a use. So there's that too. I rarely get to play with good players though but I rather have that than be the one who carries noobs on normal pvp.
-
Most PVP'rs are just transplanted CoD babies. Most are still teenagers. Can't really expect much but tears and rectal bleeding from the pvp community.
-
Because they're shallow people with small minds and a big ego. They won't get far in life don't sweat it.
-
Who cares what they think. I dont need their approval. Yea I suck at Crucible. At least I don't suck at life so bad I have to come here and wave my k/d around like it's something special.

1 ReplyNo idea, people like to be dicks, although I'm sure I destroyed a couple elitists earlier when I was on my (then) level 8 topping the leaderboards with the Khvostov ;)

Edited by ADMITED NEPTUNE: 1/15/2015 12:37:00 PMI've played quite a bit of Crucible, I'm fairly decent at it. (feel free to stat check) And I have played a lot of PvE. My personal opinion is that there is a strong correlation to how well someone plays in PvP and how well they play PvE. Granted, they're both played differently, but ultimately I feel both require a sense of how to analyze and approach situations. And I feel the people who do this best are the more experienced players. Experienced not only in PvP, but in Destiny, because it's so different from previous fps. Anyways, getting off topic, long story short, I don't think PvE players are better than PvP player but, I do believe players maintain their skill levels in both areas of the game. Meaning, I believe if one is skillful in PvP, they will be just as skillful in PvE. The same goes in vice versa. Edit: I actually enjoy the PvP even if it does seem a bit crazy, laggy, or unfair at times. I just see them as obstacles and try to push through. Haha

It's because they're butthurt that they can't hit max light level by playing only pvp

Who DON'T PvP-focused players trash talk?
-
5 RepliesWhat do they not trash. Wish we could have a total pve destiny with no pvp at all. No screwing around with weapons because of the crucible. No trying to force all players into pvp. Or having 3 vendors in the tower only take crucible marks.. "biggest gripe i have with this game"

People that play Destiny PvP are those that suck at every other shooter on the market. Destiny PvP is just another casual shooter in an overly saturated casual market. It has very limited modes of play and no tools that allow the community to make anything. Frankly, Call of Duty does the casual experience better. Playing Destiny for the PvP experience is like playing Call of Duty for it's campaign.

3 RepliesBecause they're young... People who are true gamers understand how video games are made and more importantly how network protocols work. Some of us are skilled enough to understand the difference in true competition when you assemble your own LAN and really see who is the best in the room. As in the same physical room with everyone linking their systems together properly, and with style. : ) Anyone who has played years of FPS's like CoD and now Destiny and experienced hundreds of matches where you're killed by obviously less skilled players. Tons of matches where you shoot half a magazine to be taken out by a few bullets of return fire. I'm sure I could get hundreds of people who have all experienced that damn post mortem melee death. Lol Then there's those who have no idea what I'm talking about... That's the other side of the coin, the random element, chaos in full bloom There are far too many uncontrollable random elements to account for. It's one thing to be killed by a skilled player and learn something. It's a completely different and very infuriated experience to be killed unjustly and no way to counter. Anyone who wants to draw lines is flawed beyond anything to do with a video game. Segregation can only lead to one thing, especially if it's employed in something as mundane as a video gaming community...

I think a lot of these discussions take place because there isn't a balance between the two and never will. They both require a specific approach within a specific circumstance. Therefore pvp =/ pve. I'm a pc gamer and there's usually one or two games that are able to balance weapons very well. What does that mean? It means one player's fighting style will never dominate the boards. Then everybody is able to play as they so choose so that skill will be the determining factor and not the ability to win the mad dash for weapons, ammo, or anything else. I think pvp free for all should do away with radar, critical hits(i.e. head shots), secondary weapons, tertiary weapons, and nerf grenades. I've always thought that skill was dueling it out with primary weapons. Movement and ability to aim are the main focus at that point. Nothing like specials, grenades, or an op secondary to throw the contest. A long time ago there was a third party add-on for Quake. It was called Arena. You were given a large but closed off arena with full weapons systems. It was 1vs1. Winner stayed. It was great for honing in on basic skills. Then the next big step as a player would be playing 4vs4 matches. Learning to use your style with others as well as learning maps and whatever else people think is important. What's fun about a balanced game play is that even if you make a mistake running the map or putting yourself in a bad circumstance, since gameplay is well balanced you're still able to fight your way out with fundamental skills....if you're that good. Anyways, most pvp isn't fun for myself these days since gameplay isn't balanced....that and I'm terrible without my mouse. But it's funny to see these arguments because imo that's all anybody is truly arguing...the developers unbalanced game play.

They talk trash because they come from the "wonderful" land of Call of Duty (which in the mind of these kind of players it's a good PvP game.)
-
The clan I'm in is probably 90% PvE. Last weekend we played some crucible for a change of pace and won something like 18 matches in a row. Just because the bulk of someone's stats are PvE doesn't mean you suck at PvP. The PvP only guys can suck it.
-
Because they can't comprehend that only through pve can you get to a higher level which is very important when playing iron banner.
-
PvP have no room to talk they are dealing with 6 enemy players with balanced weapons and armor, in regular crucible in PvE you are dealing with a lot of AI, what they lack in their thinking etc they make up for with powerful weapons, melee/burn bonuses, and numbers not saying either is superior, just saying that I'll have more fun doing Nightfall/Weekly/Daily and especially Rid then any Crucible match

6 RepliesWell here we go, As a mediocre PvP player and decent PvE player I have greater respect for good PvP players. I hope no one would take it offensively by me saying your not really that skilled if you can beat a raid or dance through a strike without dying. A true test of skill comes whenever you match your skills against other players. Competition is endless and the people your shooting have REAL skill. You can't learn their moves and develop one strategy that will work every time. I hate the idea of trashing PvE players entirely, but I don't see how someone can argue that it takes more skill to beat AI versus human beings who will never respond the same way twice.
-
I think it comes out of the response from people trashing pvp, saying it takes no skill. From people who enjoy pvp it seems that others with that mindset probably are not good at pvp and would rather say that something is crap than admit their own flaws. It is also stupid to say that if you prefer one thing that you are not good at something else, meaning that a person who is amazing at pvp could like pve much better.
-
Because they think killing someone in a video game gives them some kind of power. Nothing new. I played cod for years and drank all those delicious years.
-
It happens in every game where there are the two things. A well rounded gamer plays both and usually does well in both. If you take a pure pvp player into pve the usually do okay but we'll always do better in pvp. The same is true if you take a pure pve player and put them in pvp. Both can be technically challenging the thing that pvp has over pve is the difference in playstyles that one has to overcome. Pve is more about refining strategies to become as effecient as you can be with a specific group. Each thinks they are usually better then the other when in fact they are the same. Epeens ftw I guess
-
1 ReplyBecause they dont play real fps pvp
-
1 ReplyWhat does PVP mean and what does PVE mean? Player vs Player? Player vs...elephant?
-
I'm good at both so this doesn't apply to me
-
I like pve but I play pvp
-
Pvp will always be more hard u got almost unlimited potential against u pve u know what u are against I'm not a fan of pvp but I know what's up
