I love my Façade of the Hezen Lords but there's as always better gear out there... It would be nice to be able to transmog a new helmet so that it looks like the one I have. Same could go for weapons... Also I think it should be a service just for legendary gear since exotic gear is supposed to look... Well exotic.
It might be a feature that Xûr offers for say 7 strange coins or something. What do you guys think?

1 ReplyExcellent idea! I was thinking something like reverse engineer at the current vendors. Bring an armor you like the look of and an armor you want the stats from and put them together, the base stats carry over and the bonus ads randomize between what goes in.

3 RepliesEdited by C1B3D: 1/4/2015 9:01:52 PMTransmogrifiction was a bad idea in WoW, and it is even worse to wish such shit for Destiny. Some items have a story, so to take 1 item with 1 story, and make it something different than it is, would be ruin the whole thing. I dont want inspect people to know what item they use, i just need to see the player and i know, this is Vault of Glass gear, this is Crotas End gear, this is Mask of Third Man, this is The Armamentarium, ok this guy using 2 grenades, l need to play more careful know, this guy using Achlyophage Symbiote, 4 Golden Gun shots and not 3, so wait for the 4 shots before i leave my cover. So no never! You like WoW and everything what is inside? Go play WoW but dont bring bad ideas like this to Destiny!

Honestly, I could see that working. Also, transmogs for exotics would be a bad idea since some players (Myself included) base tactics off of visible exotics. For example, if I can spot an opponent wearing some of the more obvious exotics, I'll alter my plan against them. Also, to be fair, just limit this to armor. For guns, just make something akin to what Ghost Recon:Future Soldier did. Give options like changing cosmetics, etc. So if I wanted a Scout Rifle with the side rail guards (Like the FWC or Iron Banner ones) I can install those. With that, I could see doing the same for exotics, as they'd still look mostly like themselves, but with a given player's individual touches.

This concept would be the #1addition to an already great game in my opinion. The art direction in this game is phenomenal, the look of the world and it's inhabitants may be the games greatest asset. There are so many sweet looking gear sets to be had that it's a shame that stats determine what players wear to such a large degree. Personally I like the look of the normal vanguard armor(s) and especially my VOG set much more than my Crota gear, but i'm wearing the Crota loot simply because of the promise of level 32. As for implementation, even if Bungie doesn't want to hand total aesthetic control to the player, they could design a system wherein only level 20 gear would be affected. Possibly even a system where you could convert a "complete set" of armor to a "transmog" set by: first acquiring it, fully upgrading it, then have xur sell some sort of special material to "link" the upgraded set together and only then could it be applied as a transmog to whatever the player currently has equipped, with the possible exception of exotics, perhaps the visual representation of the exotics should trump the transmog . If Bungie feels the need to impose any restrictions at all, i think a system where only fully upgraded, level 20, matching armor sets could be converted to a transmog set is reasonable. It keeps Bungie's strong artistic vision in tact while giving the player a little more control of their characters appearance, and introduces a greater variety in the appearance of high level characters. Plus, in theory, it could condense the 4 separate pieces of armor into one "linked" set that would only occupy one inventory slot in the vault, giving us more room (mine's pretty full). win win.

3 RepliesI agree for armor, but not for weapons especially exotics. That would take away from how the gun is supposed to be used like the sights. I couldn't imagine watching someone using a Suros that looks like a Monte Carlo. Would change the game too much

But with my Creat of Alpha Lupi or Symbiote if I ever get it. Because the set looks pretty awesome.
