Destiny: A Legend (Chapter 1)

Note: This story is based somewhat off the Destiny game we know today, some of it is based off the scrapped Destiny plot, and some is made up. Chapter One: Homecoming The 15th Day of the 5th Month <What was that called again, May?> of the XXXX Year Humanity had literally lost track of time. Normally nobody noticed this however, today was a special one, Siris was returning home. I could explain to you all about Siris, what made him more significant than the many other Guardians of the City, his daring personality, how he came to be, but that is a story all for another day, you must try to piece together what you can about him yourself. Crack, Crack, CRACK! The bullets of light and sun ripped through the core of Atheon, Times Conflux, a Vex feared by other Vex below it, an important link in their system. It had weakened the Vex immensely. The next month three more would end up in the skull of Crota, Son of Oryx. A hive god had been slain. The Hive had retreated into their darkest caverns in the Moon and had not been seen since. This had all occured in three months. A Guardian ship soon plummeted down, tearing through the Earths atmosphere so gracefully and peacefully as if it were an art form of some kind. Siris sat inside at its controls, performing various clicks and movements to prepare the ship for an approaching landing, he looked perfectly normal, and yet if only one knew what he had been through. <You know, I've recently been in touch with the City, they plan to throw a celebration for you in honor of your achievements, I hope your ready.> Siris chuckled at the statement of his Ghost who sounded serious in his manner, "I can always be ready for a celebration and yet, they really shouldnt go to the trouble, I do not need an award for my duty to protect humanity from the dark threats that lie beyond." The jumpship soon broke the white clouds and the landscape below could be seen, Siris pressed on more controls, preparing to land even further now. <Even I must honor you on what you've done, to defeat both a Hive God and one of the Vex who bore extreme importance, thats something Ive never heard of any other doing.> And with that, the jumpship slowed itself as it approached the hangar bay of the Tower, an outpost for the Guardians as well as their vendors, behind it lay the largest and most beautiful mountains on Earth, the name of the range or any specific mountains had been long lost, but a sight they were. Amanda Holliday, the Towers Shipwright, would look up to see the landing of the Valkyrie-O5X Jumpship, the only one of its kind in existence, take a smooth landing. Within mere seconds, Siris climbed out and lifted both his helm and cloak from his head, taking the first breath of air not purified through his helmet in months. "Well youve been a busy boy, havent you?" Amanda said approaching, "As ever!" Siris said with a grin. Amanda took a look at the ship which was now being cleaned out by the robot workers of the Tower, "She still working ok?" Siris looked back as well and nodded, "Still as good as the first time I flew her, thank you." Amanda nodded and soon parted directions back to her work station, "I wont keep you, for everyone is anxious to see you again, I'll see you around!" With that, Siris made his way up the Tower steps and would be greeted by both the gleaming sun and the cheer of many people gathering around, most all the Guardian recognized. Despite the crowd, Siris managed to pick out the one he wanted to see the most, the Speaker, who stood on an elevated "balcony". A mask covered the Speakers face and yet, Siris swore he saw a faint smile peer out. <Told you.> Siris Ghost said as the made their way through the crowd, Siris smiled and accepted small gifts from all as well as an endless rain of compliments and kind words. Soon however he made his way up the steps and greeted the Speaker, "Well done Siris, Well done, in the mere time of two months you have accomplished goals many have tried to achieve for years and fail, I applaud you." Siris nodded graciously at the Speakers remark, "Thank you, is the City well?" The Speaker nodded and turned left, "Walk with me." "Yes indeed it has, more and more Guardians are restored each day, each and everyone contributing to push back the Darkness. Guardians have helped the City reclaim lost ground, closer to the Twilight Gap." The Speaker faced forward then, almost dissapointed like as they walked, "Fallen were spotted near the Gap however, Devils, as well as some reported Kings, a dangerous sighting. We must not let the Fallen get this close to the Citys walls, otherwise..." And the Speaker came to a stop, turned, and looked. The two had come to a room with a giant window which overlooked the City in the distance but more significantly.."The Traveler, how is it?" Siris said and gazed at the enormous white orb, humanities savior, which now hung low over and protected the City. "It still longs to reclaim its voice, what it had long ago, but with your help Siris, it improves daily, still protecting us all from the Darkness." The Speaker said. Siris sighed somewhat to himself, "Do you think it will ever regain its full glory?" The Speaker returned his gaze to Siris, "Only time will tell the Travelers fate...but, with more efforts like yours, it will be sooner than later." The Speaker would speak again before anything else could happen, "Ah I forgot, Shaxx wished for me to give this to you, he is away on a meeting in the City, I promised him you would receive it." Moments later, a gun with a big lettered SUROS marking on the side would materialize in Siris hands. "A SUROS Regime, an auto rifle, one of the few left in existence." Siris studied the exotic auto rifle in awe, looking into the sights and looking it top to bottom, his gaze returned to the Speaker, "Give Lord Shaxx my thanks." as Siris began to leave, the Speaker spoke one last time, "Use it well, Siris...and remember, finish the fight, the Traveler is relying on you." Siris nodded and soon made his way out from the Speakers study. The Speaker watched him out, and then, looked back at the Traveler, but something changed. For a moment, he seemed to darken in his appearance as he walked, "Soon enough, you will no longer have to burden above this..world, you will rise again and reveal your true power and strength, you will freely be rise, reveal what you had started, and with none in your way...." A firey black orb appeared in the Speakers hand, it flashed three images, Earth, a location of no place in space or time, and then Siris. "And finish it." The Speaker crushed the orb.
