1) change tower gear so a full set gets you level 30.
2) change VoG gear so a full set gets you level 31.
3) make level 31 a requirement to play Crotas End.
Crota gear gets you to level 32, a requirement for hard mode.
This will eliminate people who have never raided doing Crotas end, as well as making the VoG mean something again, instead of being a useless piece of content.
This also eliminates carrying, at least in terms of level.
Problem solved. Am I hired yet?

41 RepliesNo. Like all people who complain about this, you see all of the end-game in terms of the raids. When 70-80% of people who play this game don't raid on any sort of regular basis. The release version of the game allowed non-raiders to get to level 29 without raiding. The DLC raised the level cap---and all the end game content----by two levels. So the non-raiding community has the right to expect to be able to get to level 31 without having to raid. I'm sorry but their is NOTHING special about level 30 anymore....and no reason to have to grind away at the VoG anymore. Farm it for upgrade mats, or a particular weapon you want. But the game has moved on.

Edited by Abyssal Shift: 1/1/2015 7:39:31 PMAnyone who complains about the tower gear is an idiot. If you took the time to analyze the situation you would see that the status quo hasn't changed. Prior to Crota's End, Vanguard Gear + 1 Exotic got you to lvl29, one level lower than Max Level. Raid gear got you to max level New Update, Max level increased to 32. Now. Vanguard gear gets you to level 31, one level below Max Level. Raid gear got you to max level. It is exactly the same.

It was so OP'd to begin with I still use it fine.

1 ReplyThis will make the grind worse. Under this idea, I would have to grind endlessly and farm public events in hopes to get enough shards to level all my tower gear to get to 30. Then I would have to do the VOG repeatedly in hopes I get a full set of that gear, or at least enough to supplement with exotics. After, that, I would have to grind some more to level up THAT gear to get to 31 and then, play the Crota raid. C'mon man. I appreciate what you're trying to do, but this wont work. How about upgrading the Elemental primaries\Raid weapons to 331 on new drops. On those weapons add a Crota-related node beneath the Oracle node to make them relevant in the new raid. Also, raise all VOG gear in the game (new and old) to bring you up to level 31 (although people will complain that they already dismantled that gear and lead to more bitching), so its at least on par with tower gear. You could even add special perks on VOG gear that you won't find in tower gear to make it stand out more, maybe random elemental resistance or something. That way you don't have to reconfigure the entire game, just modify VOG items to make them current.

And everyone can still look like clones, great.

1 ReplyVOC and FB need to be upgraded. Know that.

1 ReplyThe problem is light levels. 2 light levels for an "expansion" is way too few. 4 light levels would allow them increase vendor gear to 31, VoG gear to 32 (33 w/exotic?) and Crotas to 34. Destiny has only 1 problem: Not enough content. People complain about loot drops being too few--- it's bc there's too little content to increase drop rates People complain about grind and the imposed walls on progress--- it's put there bc there's too little content (you could blow through it all in a day without restrictions) People complain about the story sucking--- the problem isn't suckage it's non-existence of a story-- it hasn't been told yet because they are drip feeding it to us to keep us on the proverbial "teet" of DLC-- which means, it's not that the story sucks necessarily it's rather that, once again, we aren't being given enough content. With the exception of game functionality like matchmaking, clan support, direct to tower options etc, the destiny only has one problem: Lack of Content. And a 2 light level "expansion" causing issues is a result of that.

I think vender gear should have 2 tiers of gear, the old and the new, and new should be way harder to get. Leave vog and let people decide to raid a couple of times or grind a couple weeks

By the way, I have not yet completed any raids. I have made several attempts, but due to my friend not being high enough level and lacking skill, I was unable to complete it. I don't know where you pulled this "raider ego" card from.

just no to this.

3 RepliesThis would've been good but I already dismantled tons of VoG gear so I and probably many other people would be pissed. It just won't work this far in to the dlc when most people that hit 31 did it by getting new tower gear. They all would be screwed if they were sent down to 30 again.
