How has cheating in PvP not been addressed yet? There is a serious problem with lagswitching, infinite heavy, infinite super, etc. I had an instance where I shot a guy square with a fusion rifle. He turned around and started dancing at me. While he was dancing I put 7 more fusion rounds in him. He then waved and killed me with 1 melee. Unfortunately stories like this are far too common. People getting headshots with multiple walls between. People that are in front of you by a great distance one shotting you with a melee. Bungie needs to unleash the banhammer on these fools. Stop telling them to focus on people cheesing in pve. Who really cares about that? This blatant cheating in PvP needs to be their top priority. Fix this bungie.
Edit: cheating > cheesing. If you can't see that, you have lost too many brain cells. I don't want cheating in either PvP or pve. If these people can pull these tricks in PvP, they can do it in pve. So doesn't it make sense to focus on these gamebreaking issues?
Edit 2: Thank you community for being so toxic. I'm trying to point out issues that WILL kill this game and you are more focused on arguing or calling me an idiot or a liar. Destiny does have the most toxic fanbase of any game I've ever seen. You are destroying your own game.

3 RepliesEdited by TheHunan: 12/29/2014 8:28:20 PMAs long as people can hide behind a TV or Monitor they will cheat. On the forums they will be rude and nasty as well. Put anyone of that kind of person in a room with other and they will not act or say the same thing. Its an act of cowardly behavior.

I played against a cheater once, his name was Destiny_mod or something like that, he just wouldnt die..just report them for the time being, bungie will bann them in time
-
I have never encountered a cheater
-
1 ReplyAbout being shot thru walls, some guns do this on purpose. It's how I get a lot of kills and is what is gonna take my team to victory in the trials.
-
3 RepliesThank you for not specifying what console so I'm gonna assume it's 360 since that's where all the modders are
-
Never seen a cheater or hacker. Have been accused when I had heavy for like half a round because I had supered 4 guys who had ammo.
-
I'm with you!

12 RepliesI agree PvP cheating is far worse than PvE cheesing because in PvP it's about competition whereas PvE it's the players own world that's impacted. I thought the heavy cheat was taken out.

Edited by grimple1: 12/30/2014 12:10:23 AMSo I have to ask...wtf did you stick around? When someone is lagging like that you should've known to run.
-
1 ReplyOnly seen a cheater once, had heavy ammo the whole match, even before the first drop. Otherwise haven't seen any
-
Because this is the same bullshit lag in all of Bungies games No matter what connection you have you always end up in shitty matches, it's easier if your playing as a team sure but the amount of people not dying is breaking the game
-
The only cheating I have seen is the heavy ammo issue which has been fixed. Outside of that you have kids on scrub ass internet playing but to the extent you are talking about, no I have not seen anyone lag switching, but I think you are full of crap or exaggerating beyond belief on the issue of crap internet (which there is a lot of in this game) and not knowing the difference here.
-
There have been times where the lag is so bad that I never have a chance to get a shot off before i die, but have never run into any of the issues you speak of. Still, frustrating as shit to say the least. Makes me want to throw my controller through the TV when I get owned like that and never have a chance to even shoot one bullet.
-
This is the first I've heard of any of this.
-
2 RepliesI've noticed lag switching. Their moms must be so proud.
-
Shut up Meg
-
1 ReplyI have much more hours put in this game and I can say... I haven't seen one instance of what you described...
-
Never noticed someone to cheat. I have noticed someone not being able to be killed a few times but I think it's just their bad connection. What system you on?
-
I agree they should just not allow anyone with poor connection into matchmaking in today's age is there really any excuse for a poor connection
-
Where the video of this happening
-
26 RepliesPeople have been lag switching since PS2 there is no effective criteria to ban. They'll inevitably end up banning people with poor connections which is not acceptable.
-
2 RepliesI stopped when you said you used a fusion rifle
-
Op, you claim you experienced running into the most amazing cheaters but you have no video evidence. Gtfo. You're just bad.
-
2 RepliesHaving not encountered any cheaters in pvp, my biggest complaint has been douchebags running around with fusion rifles the whole -blam!-ing time.

Edited by mmmoose: 12/29/2014 8:18:44 PMI think matchmaking may be the culprit. I'm in the US east coast. But once in a while the game pairs me up with players from South America and Europe. Yes, I've seen Brazilian and German PSN IDs/clan names pop up in the roster list. There'll be maybe 1-3 of them in a room with very bad pings. Meanwhile everyone else is local and has decent pings. Can you take a wild guess who ends up winning the game by a wide margin? You guessed it, the foreign laggy players!! They'll be warping all over the place, not taking any damage etc. And you can't do anything about it—aside from leaving the game. Long story short be sure to check the roster before each match begins and make sure that matchmaking isn't screwing you over. It's not something that happens everyday, but when it does happen it can really ruin your Crucible experience.

The crucible needs to have a connection requirement. If you have a red ping, you probably shouldn't be allowed in. At the very least group these people together.
