Possible to Kill Crota Solo Without Gjallahorn?
It took me a couple hours but I cleared up to crota solo tonight. Once I got to him I tried following how the other hunter was doing it. I noticed he had Gjallahorn but thought being 32 I could use my fully upgraded hunger of crota with similar results. I was wrong. Two shots of Hunger of Crota only take about 2/3 of his shield down leaving me to have to switch to my icebreaker to finish off his shield. This doesnt leave me any time to get any real good hits on crota.
My question is, is it possible without the Gjallahorn? Is there another rocket launcher that i could use that can get to 331 and shoot 3 rockets? Please let me know.

Just a thought, but Thorn? Lingering Dot effect possibly while reloading ....anything?

Fully upgraded Dragon's Breath, it holds three shots and has lasting damage because of the solar flare perk.

Truth at 331 w 3 rockets, would do it, plus nade if necessary. Doesn't do it for me because of damage penalty. I'm at 31.

Doesnt his shield regen after the first rocket and the delay of the clusters?

8 RepliesThere are plenty of alternatives - Hunger of Crota - Hezen Vengeance - Dragon's Breath - Rocks - Cats - Truth (last resort, if all above fails)

1 ReplyRockets aren't necessary . the only way you take down his shield is CONSANT damage. anything that does lingering damage is the way to do it.

Maybe 1 rocket -nade - 1 more rocket? Might sound silly but when i used the jallopyhorn 2 shots straight then swapping weapons wouldn't cut it.

You could try the dragons breath with solar flare but pretty sure ghorn is the only viable way. You just need to do too much damage in too short a time.
